Greetings. Theological librarian here. This clip oversimplifies how things went. The process of canonization in the Catholic Church means a judicial-grade inquiry in whether the candidate to official sainthood lived the virtues of Faith, Hope, Charity, Prudence, Justice, Fortitude and Temperance in the heroic degree. That's established via interviews with witnesses and examination of the candidate's writings/recordings (if any). If that works well (no testimonies proving the candidate was a rascal, no theological mistakes in his words), it is sought whether there are miracles attributable to the candidate's intercession. The preferred ones are healings, which must be of diagnosed serious/deadly conditions, and must be complete, instantaneous, lasting, and not due to medical treatment. That part must be confirmed by a medical committee, in which non-Catholic or non-believer physicians are welcomed. After that, and if all the theological requirements are fulfilled, the candidate is declared as 'Blessed,' and some veneration is authorized. For the candidate to be declared as a 'Saint,' whose veneration is more extensive, the process is doubled and deepened, including another miracle that must fulfill the aforementioned conditions. Important note: it is only God the one who makes miracles; the candidate/saint it is understood as an intercessor only. You pray to God, asking for a miracle, for the merits of such and such saintly person. The miracle happening is the proof that the person is in Heaven with God. Anybody who led a decent life could have gone to Heaven and be saved, a saint, but when someone is canonized, there is a certainty. Of course, nobody is asking you all to believe in things like Heaven or Saints, but I hope you realize that Catholics take this things seriously. That's why canonizations take years, decades, centuries even. All of that just to recognize that someone lived as a true Christian, which is what all Christians are supposed to do. ✌

Don't write you are former Chatolic, if you don't believe in Saints I think you should write you are agnostic or simply not a Chatolic... Only God Can do miracles but we chatolic believe that some people who, in their life, loved God on everything (including their own life) and love the people as theirselves, they become Saints and God, for the love that they give to Him, answer to their preyer (intercession) for living people. The Holy Church does not easily recognize miracles, in the commissions there are doctors who are also non-believers or non-Catholics who have to make sure that the healing is actually inexplicable and sudden, which is why they are so rare. Otherwise three miracles a week would be recognised.... Sometimes examining commissions need years to recognize a miracle and at least two are needed to declare someone a saint.

Before reaching the canonization it takes years. Miracles are almost the end of this path. Carlo's life was passed through a sieve. Carlo's computer was "seized" to verify the presence of elements contrary to the doctrine of faith. Friends and acquaintances were all heard and each of them was asked if they had a reason for resentment towards Carlo. In short, the journey is long and it took years to get to here. For me, Charles' holiness was already visible at his funeral. He, a wealthy young man who could have had everything, but who only had a pair of shoes because the rest was superfluous.. its coffin was surrounded by all kind of people, poor people who had been helped by him.. for my Faith, that's enough. Post scriptum: His computer continues to catch fire from time to time under the eye of the surveillance camera .. Carlo's mother smiles on it. She is not afraid. I was raised a catholic, until…I actually seriously started to read the Bible. We can read in Scriptures that Lord Jesus commanded the Apostles to first preach the Gospel to the Jews, and after also to the Heathen or Gentiles (but never vise versa ! ). I found out in Scriptures who of the Apostles for the first time went to Rome .. and it wasn't Peter. In the Book of Acts it says in Chapter 28 the following: 16 "And when we came to Rome, the Centurion delivered the Prisoners to the Captain of the Guard: but Paul was allowed to live in a house, by himself, with a Roman Soldier that kept him. 17 And it came to pass, that after three days Paul called the Chief of the there living Jews together: and when they came together, Paul said to them: "Men and Brethren, though I have committed nothing against our people, our customs, or against our fathers, yet was I delivered prisoner from Jerusalem into the hands of the Romans 18 who, when they had examined me, would have let me go, because there was no cause of guild in me. 19 But when the Jews spoke against that verdict, I was constrained to appeal unto Caesar; not that I had made any accusations against my Nation. 20 For this Hope (the Gospel of Jesus Christ) therefore I have called for you, to see you, and to speak with you: because for the Hope of Israel I am bound with these chains. 21 The Chief of the Jews said to Paul: "We neither received letters out of Judaea concerning you, neither any of the Brethren that came from there shewed or spoke any harm of you. 22 But we desire to hear of you what you think: for concerning this sect, we know that it is spoken against everywhere". Again dear catholics: who lies? God’s Word, or the Roman catholic church? Since the Roman catholic 'church' claims to be well-read on scriptures, then please point me in the direction of where in the Bible it says to pray to a woman, or with a rosary praising Mary, or to dead “saints.” Lord Jesus calls every believer Saints which all are who received the Holy Spirit and confess that Jesus is Lord - so Rome has no authority appointing only some people saint - that is ludicrous. Please show me the name ‘pope’ in the Bible? Please show me where it says to call any mortal sinful man (the pope) your father. Please show me where the Bible says anything about purgatory, or paying indulgences (buying yourself into heaven - is God corrupt ?). Please show me where Mary was sinless? Why is it that Catholics worship Mary still as a virgin when Lord Jesus had half brothers and half sisters? Please show me where it says to confess your sins to a fellow sinful man so that he may forgive them? Where does the Bible say the pope is the “vicar of Christ” on earth? Show me where it says that a preacher must be unmarried? It was the pagan ROMAN Emperor Constantine who was in fact the first “pope” who hijacked the first Christian Communion in Rome founded by the apostle Paul, and he didn't allow for the common people to have Bible Scriptures...to keep believers ignorant to stay in power, as the Catholic Church still tries to do. Later pope’s started the ‘inquisition’ because the book printing machine was invented and people like Martin Luther and William Tyndale could spread the Bible to the common people: they were persecuted and many of them burned to dead for that by decree of Rome, and so were hundreds others who did the same as they denounced the FALSE doctrines of Rome. Rome called them heretics and witches while they murdered Christians who loved Jesus and true Scriptures. PLEASE GET OUT OF THIS FALSE CHURCH !!! The Roman catholic “church” is a continuation of the old Roman PAGAN Empire: it never went away as it disguised itself as a Christian Church. Canonizations are supposed to take decades if not centuries. This canonization was fast tracked. Even if the kid have evidence of being a saint, which he doesn't, it still isn't prudent and completely against tradition to do it this fast. Also for the miracles that are contributed to him My question is why did those people pray to him in the first place He hasn't even become a saint yet and these people were praying to him isn't that kind of false idol worship
