my mom always told me, if i got pregnant as a teen, not only would i have to work to provide for the child, but i would not get coddled by my parents. it’s called tough love. the man stood up to the plate, took ownership of his mistakes the entire show, and what does she do? makes excuses. while teen families are hard and sometimes aren’t worth it, if you find the right person with that levelheaded mindset but also that baby fever in them, you can have a relatively good and functioning family. it’s just bad apples like this bimbo that spoil the bunch. i wouldn’t want my family to bend over backwards for me if i got pregnant as a teen, especially with how open my family was in educating me about the dangers and pros of teen pregnancy, the complications it could have on a young body like mine, while also telling me that if i did, they would not give financial support because they didn’t get pregnant, i did. that’s perfectly reasonable, and i believe all parents should do that because after some point of a parent’s life, the decisions their children make are all on their own. if you’re old enough to willingly get pregnant with someone, you’re old enough to face the burdens that come with it. simple as that. this father took liberties by dropping out of school and going straight into the workforce to help provide for his family, which is something uncommon in teens, especially teen boys. i commend everything he’s done. while i wouldn’t drop out of school because i am all for school and college and taking extra steps in education, the fact he never stopped learning by going to the workforce is commendable, and i think everyone should be fucking applauding this man instead of shaming him. the shame is on the girlfriend. straight up. she’s a sorry excuse for a mother and girlfriend. simple as that. there is no buts or “um actually”s that need to be said. it’s as simple as that.

Stories like this are why we should genuinely make an effort to educate teens about things like adoption when it comes to pregnancy b/c if she was that pressed about having to "give up her life" for her baby, she could just as easily give up her baby for adoption to a family who would be more than willing to step up. Continuing to have the baby and making him suffer for it is crazy considering that he's the only one stepping up to make ends meet for the both of them. I'm sorry. I understand how you feel. It took me a year to get mine. And my surgeon even said they could bot even touch me. I ended up getting 100% disability. And told I'd be lucky to walk a year. But I still do but use a cane and I have a wheelchair. But do not give up. Keep fighting. It does piss me off how people like that girl can get it so easy. Sending you hugs and prayers

An adult in her life should‘ve stepped up and shown her the error of her ways. She really has a lot of maturing to do, and it’s unfortunate that she has to figure that out while having a child and no education. She expects him to work full time, take care of them financially, and then save to move out. They both should’ve continued with their education, at least have a high school diploma! So disappointing.
