As a teen professional singer yourself, it's very refreshing to get your viewpoint on teen Diana's techniques and abilities. I've lived a long time and I waited all my life to hear a singer like Diana. This type of singer (female contralto) is rare, but Diana has abilities that are something else! Truly a unique phenomenon that we may only come across once in many lifetimes! Did you know Diana took up singing at 5yo to help her speak properly? I figure it might be worth saying that you are already pretty amazing at smiling. Diana is a super star with that capability. It is a good skill to refine because there are two brain centers for smiling. One, you have limited control over and is the genuine smile, the other is a forced smile. Blending them will always help brighten the room. Sometimes thinking about that can help you smile in itself.

this song seems to scare a few folk! :) Rather than a narrative about a toxic relationship, I choose to interpret it as that feeling when you thought you had your life planned out and then your path crosses with someone and you realize you have fallen hopelessly and deeply in love and that you have no option but to surrender - as frightening as that may be. Maybe they don't feel the same way or reject you, or they or you are already with someone. When you really fall in love, it is like facing a tsunami of uncertainties and scary as hell! I think this rendition conveys that really well. But honestly, Diana could sing the phone book and I would probably love it.

From watching several voice coaches and teachers reviews of her, I believe the natural structure of her larynx plus training and practice have enhanced the resonances of her voice to give it the rich haunting sound. Her song choices and arrangements help bring out the polyphonic nature. Her stage presence is also something to watch. She is totally immersed when she sings. As she matures, I hope she will make the transition into a full dramatic contralto, {very rare}. Since you are studying opera, did you recognize the judge standing on the top row with the beard and tears in his eyes? He is Yusif Eyvazov who is married to Anna Netrebko, both well-known and respected opera singers. What does it say about her performance if she could move him to tears?

Interesting, but Deeana's composition is a 3rd-level cover. Originally French song "Plaisir d'Amour" (18th century) was covered by Elvis Presley. After that Tommee Profitt made a minor key cover.
