And thank you for checking this legendary band, performing at Wacken Open Air in 2013, together with Floor Jansen, the 3rd and present female singer of the band, in front of an 82K+ audience. About the instrumental and vocal added parts - it's good to know they recorded their orchestral and vocal back tracks with prestigious institutions as London Philharmonic Orchestra. London's The Metro Voices choir group and London's Young Musicians Children's Choir as their regular partners. As I saw, you enjoyed the powerful performance of the band. Your reaction was a refreshing surprise for me. Hope you'll continue on this path. Since this is your first Nightwish reaction, it is my duty to give you the [updated] short history of the band concentrated by Ann Waychoff, one of the biggest Nightwish fan who has since passed away (and I am doing this in her memory): " Nightwish was started in 1996.They are considered a Symphonic Metal band, with a female main singer. They are from Finland. Tuomas Holopainen, the keyboard player, composes and writes the lyrics for 95% of their music. [The 1st Bassist of the band was Sami Vanska, he was with them until 2001. The 2nd one was Marco Hietala, as Bassist and vocals, since 2001 to 2020. He recently announced his retirement both from the band and the public life for the next year at least - we'll see what the future brings to us. Then very recently (May 2021) Jukka Koskinen became the 3nd Bassist of the band, for at least the Human :II: Nature tour] And there is the guitarist Emppu Vuorinen . Then there is Troy Donockley from UK who is a multi-instrumentalist and vocals. Jukka Nevalainen is the drummer. In 2015 due to Jukka's health issues Kai Hahto became the drummer and as of now is a permanent addition. Nightwish has had three singers. 1st one was Tarja Turunen (Operatic vocals). She was with them until 2005. The 2nd one was Anette Olzon from Sweden (Poppy, strong vocals). She was with them until 2012.The 3rd and current singer is Floor Jansen, from Netherlands (power, operatic, soprano.....most versatile) - you just heard her. There are live concerts that you should use depending on what era. From Wishes to Eternity and End of an Era (Tarja), Montreux Festival live 2012 and Exit Festival (Anette), Live at Wacken 2013, Live at Wembley, Live at Tampere, Vehicle of Spirit, Decades live (Floor). Floor Jansen is a trained classical singer, she did Rockacademy and 2 years classical training, and she learned a lot about doing singing, she has operatic , angelic and death growls. Nightwish is very happy that they have her.

😲Classically trained? Wow im not suprized. What iv learned on my online music journey is that if you have CLASSIC under your belt you are able to Fit any shape similar to dimash Floor Jansen is so flexable i see the importance now of healthy singing technique. It is really exciting where music is heading. No more classification of people. We just want more in our arsenal! Its quite clear we are even more thirsty of a generation compared to the past singers we are so fortunate to use all these wonderful new tips and tricks JUST AN OVERALL better way of doing things being so efficient and cost effective💖 This is why Lady Aaliyah cant stop smiling all the time with her adourable dimples is because she is in an ocean surrounded by so many BRIGHT examples for her to learn from😍i too would be excited if i was in her shoes.

Floor jansen the Queen of metal ♥is a classic trained and professional voice coach with at least 20 years experience and can do anything from death metal growling to high opera notes and different styles and languages, her previous bands After Forever, Northward and Revamp and she was also featured in several Ayreon live shows and a Dutch reality show Beste zangers 2019 and 2021 song festival 😀awesome 👌 yes definitely wear headphones for Nightwish and FLOOR jansen, thanks 😊

It is an uncontrollable virus, if you get infected you cannot stop seeing reactions to Nightwish. The KZbin algorithm knows this, it shows the hundreds of visits in just one hour of people who have been infected with the virus. Good reaction, it would be great to improve the sound of the music video.

Nice reaction Aaliyah! ...a little sad that the audio quality is so bad. The simplest way of fixing it is by using headphones. Since you can redirect the sound directly to the video, since playing over speakers into microphone by far isn't optimal. Good luck on your journey... Thanks for doing your review of Nightwish! I always enjoy watching someone that’s knowledgeable or expert in music, voice or composition share their opinions. I will enjoy watching your discovery of this band, as they never cease to amaze and their songs are not always predictable. A couple things I’d like to mention: please get the sound fixed. If you go back and watch what you’ve posted, I’m sure you wouldn’t want someone watching one of your performances when it sounds like this. (Ask the Nightwish Army, they are a helpful group of people and I’m sure they’d be happy to assist). And lastly, the music of Nightwish has many layers, and in many of their songs, it is helpful to understand the context, or reference to what a song is about or why. I’m still a noob and find that Toumas (lead composer and keyboardist) is a genius. The more you understand, the better you can appreciate. Great reaction and comments. Since you are a classically trained singer you might want to hear Floor sing in her more operatic voice. She did the TV show called Beste Zangers in the Netherlands and on the first night she was the first singer and she sang Vilja Lied in German for the classically trained singer Henk Poort. They later do a duet together singing the song Phantom of the Opera also.

Great reaction young lady. I really love how you are using your personal knowledge of music to appreciate music that is new to you. If I may, I will throw some names your way to possibly expand your experience if you do not already know of them. Ronnie James Dio is called the god father of Power Vocals by fans of metal music. He grew up listening to classical music and though was never classically trained, you can hear he has the voice for it. I highly recommend the song "Stargazer" by the band Rainbow to really hear how great a singer he was. Disturbed is a metal band that has been playing for around 20 years. Out of the blue they dropped a cover of the song "Sound of Silence" and gave everyone a taste of the lead singers classical abilities. You can find a live version easily on KZbin. Now for one that is not "popular" in terms of world fame however are popular in North Africa and parts of Europe. A band named "Myrath". The lead singer is classically trained in BOTH European classical, and Arabian Classical and can switch between the two very different singing styles at will. The band also fuses western metal with classical Arabian/Tunisian music. He does not try to sound "opera" like however. Even if you do not "react" to it, it is worth a listen on your own when you have a few minutes to hear a unique sound since few musicians try to blend west with middle eastern sounds. A great place to start is their song "Believer" and then "Dance", the videos also have a story that go together.

@@AaliyahCapili You live and learn. Headphones and capturing the video audio from direct digital audio will help a lot. After that you can get lav mic if you want better audio quality for your own speech. A real condensator mic with full phantom power would allow even better audio quality but it will require improving your recording room acoustics because those are really sensitive to echo from your windows, walls and the ceiling.

In addition to her activities at After Forever, she gave singing lessons. She plays guitar, piano and flute. On May 5, 2010, she presented her new band ReVamp, which was disbanded in September 2016. Something you may not know is that this song lives or dies by the drummer. The orchestra is pre recorded and it plays in different time signatures in different parts of the song. The drummer has a clicker playing on his earphones set to the time signatures of the orchestral part. That way he doesn't speed up slow down or miss the time signature changes of the pre recorded orchestral piece.

Welcome to NW Aaliyah Capili, our 6ft Queen Floor Jansen (Dutch) is the 3rd and current frontwoman of the Finnish Symphonic Metalband NW. She is incredible. 10 Months earlier she came as a substitute for Anette Olzon, who became sick in the middle of a world tour and had to go to the hospital. NW called Floor and she said yes. She had to learn the setlist in 48 hours (there is a documentary about that) and did this on the flight from the Netherlands to Salt Lake City, where she joined the band on their way to Seattle for the next concert. GLS wasn't even on the list, but because she loved this song so much, NW put it on the list. The last part of the song the previous singer(s) didn't do, so she made it her own, with as result 10 months later at Wacken 2013 this MASTERPIECE. When she belt so high, you get shivers or goosebumps we call that a FLOORGASM. Congrats with your first one. Thanks for your video. I'd love to see more, if the band or music interests me. Interesting you mentioned about grit in the first part... Haha. Floor can do so much more. Yeah, using headphones and better sound mixing would be an improvement. I hope the quality of this video is more due to the mic and less because of the speaker quality. I like, that you pick good moments for your comments with less interruptions than most other KZbinrs. Maybe you could have commented a little more on noteworthy details like the different singing styles within one song, how it fits the music and the lyrics, the portrayed emotions, etc. Also worth mentioning: The breath control of Floor is extremely good as you mentioned at the end. Floor Jensen is the vocalist. Our Valkyrie. She does a singing master class on her KZbin channel. If you poke about, she also does a great O Mio babbino caro on one video. She has performed a few cover songs during lockdown, too. Worth checking out, along with Gabriel's List.

Excellent commentary and reaction to my favorite band and singer. For the best experience I suggest earbuds/headphones, which greatly enhances the enjoyment of this fine music. If you want to hear Floor do pure opera check out her "o mio babbino caro" ...... Pure acoustic Floor vocals, check out How's the Heart (live acoustic version). Musical theater, check out her performace on Beste Zangers, with Henk Poort doing Phantom of the opera ..... it's stunning. And certainly every song from the same concert you just listened to Ghost Love Score,...... Wacken 2013. And again, headphones, even ear buds are a must! 👍❤

Yeah, Pip Williams is sometimes called the invisible member of Nightwish because pretty much all the backgrounds orchestra parts have been arranged by him - he gets the demo versions of songs from Tuomas Holopainen and verifies that Tuomas is okay with his changes before recording with full orchestra.

Floor doesn’t place herself in a box., example “I’m a soprano” she doesn’t label herself, she doesn’t agree/understand why people should be placed in a box or labelled which adds to her ability to sing in whatever tone or/of voice she feels is appropriate for the song. She feels everything she sings and not only sing but understand the lyrics and convey that message. She is extremely well rounded by not labeling herself and being “stuck” in a specific genre of vocalist. She is magical.
