I was at tigers game once and I’ve been too my fair share of games over the years and I was just about to catch my first ball and I’ve never even had the ball come towards me, as soon as the ball was about to land in my hands on the fly I got shoved into the first row and the ball went behind me obviously I didn’t get it, I stopped bringing my gloves to the game and have learned to just enjoy the game and not worry about something so stupid! I do hope this get gets the ball or at least wins the law suit, cuz I been there but I do understand the physical value of the ball is like in the millions, and of course the sentimental value, I believe half the people if they would have caught would have kept it! There is a lot to baseball and catching a baseball is just one of many ways to enjoy a baseball game, shouldn’t let it ruin your time if it happens to anyone else in the future, your probably a bigger fan than some loser who’s just gonna sell the damn thing anyway and in my case the guy left in the 2nd inning like right after he got it, just tells me that he will forget it, and I will probably forget the moment as time passes, buy yourself a jersey beer or a hotdog and it’s just as rewarding ❤

Honestly, that's a more sensible valuation (for its historical significance, which was eclipsed the moment Otani got to 51/51). The thing about unique items is that their market value is what the one person who wants it the most is willing to pay. So if a nutcase with a billion dollars is willing to bid a billion dollars, its value is a billion dollars. Even if the #2 person thinks it's only worth $1. Because of this, I'm reluctant to even call it a "market value" if it's a unique item. It bypasses the entire concept of the _entire_ market (large number of sellers, large number of buyers) setting the value by gradually removing over-bids and under-offers. For unique items, it's just what the craziest, richest guy is willing to pay.
