Poor sweet boy, I hope he realizes his life has meaning, that he deserves to be here, and that his beautiful life has purpose. May his beautiful family remembers rest softly and peacefully, with the waves gently guiding their souls to their final destination

I hope those lost rest in peace. Beautiful souls were lost, and his father did one last act of love for his baby. 😢❤

Sad. The open ocean is a dangerous place and not worth the risk for a few fish.

@@ontopicshow Chuck was merely pointing out that one might consider it reckless to take a small skiff with an entire family into the open ocean on a day that was less than smooth as glass without a handheld VHF radio, PFD's for everyone on board, a flair-gun and a float plan and the number for the Coastguard programmed into their cellphone. The ocean is unforgiving, especially on the West Coast in November and as a captain, he is completely responsible. Yes, it's not a pretty picture and while everyone is bemoaning this tragedy, which likely might have been avoided by a captain that had better knowledge of weather and who was willing to take other safety precautions, this entire tragedy might have had a far better outcome...

@@step4560Agreed. I’m in bodega with a 30’ aluminum fishing boat and I did not go out opening day. A 21 foot Bayliner? Six people with gear? Really….?
