A good cartoon is one that can balance out serious moments with comedy. That's why I love Gravity Falls, Steven Universe and Avatar, they're one of the few shows that have that wonderful balance so it feels like I'm watching something worthwhile and not sitcom like garbage that clings to the status quo and doesn't go anywhere.

If they did have a character like aqualad in the show, it would actually be a lot better in all seriousness. The idea is that they need a straight-man to react to all the insanity happening in the show. That's often the key to purely comedic shows. For example, on spongebob, the straight-man is often played by squidward, and even other characters sometimes, such as Mr Krabs. However on TTG, they just don't have a leg to stand on, since they think that just mindlessly throwing random shit in your face counts as being funny.

To be honest, you did not have to watch the original series to know that Go was targeting a younger audience and that it was annoying most of the time. The characters are round about the same (as in somewhat dumb and annoying minus Raven at times) and the fact is that the show is not to please the fans of the 2003 to 2006 era. Though I do prefer that show hands down, TTG not being a "spinoff" is not cutting it considering you are using the same characters and same locations, but just changing the style of the animation. With that said, whether compared or not, TT is a classic and while I am not hating on TTG, it is clearly trying to grasp kids of this generation...but they did not get me lol.

Saylor to be honest if ttg never existed I wouldn't have gotten into the original or dc in general. One of the episodes of ttg had the titans watch their old selves from the original series and they had this like 30 sec long recap of every season of the original, and I got super interested in the original show so I decided to watch it. After watching that I wanted to know more about robin because he became my favorite character (which is surprising because he is actually my least favorite character in ttg) so I watched the batman animated series and I got sooo into dc. This was around 2016 and I'm still a big fan. So I'm actually happy that ttg existed otherwise I wouldn't have known about any of this probably.

I despise TTG. I really do, but it wasn't always so. When I first saw it, as a long time fan of Teen Titans, I acknowledged the change in direction; that the comedy would be more crude, the animations and storylines would be far simpler. I wanted to show my support at the very least and and find a new favorite show at best. Besides, as an adult who still finds pleasure in watching things like Scooby Doo and Tom and Jerry over anything else, I can appreciate some childish humor, and that was all I expected out of TTG. Childish humor. What I got was a show making a almost desperate attempt to be funny in the hopes that it would not only attract new viewers, but bring back all the old. The comedy presented is spastic and random with no charm once so ever to give it the easy flow that I look for in all things; art, music, writing, people..... tv shows.

0:40 Don't kid yourself. Yeah, the show's humor is immature and all that, but the same could be said about several kids shows these days like Fanboy and Chum Chum or Sanjay and Craig. Yet the hate TTG gets is far and away more loud and constant than any of those other shows. Why so much hate?
