I want to paint you guys a picture: imagine if you will a young 13 year old lad, in the distant year of 2010, playing Minecraft 1.10, while listening to a KZbin made play list which, due to KZbin’s inadequacies at discerning what you like to hear from what it makes you hear in it’s own playlists, ends up being just the same set of songs with a few differences. One such song is Teenage Dirtbag by Wheatus, an absolute bop were it not for the singer’s overall whiny tone, bringing it down to “just ok”, definitely not something worth remembering over the course of 10 years. So 10 years go by, and the boy has now upgraded to the far superior Spotify weekly playlist, listening to it while searching for a song to edit to, as it’s been a week since the last upload and new year’s is coming up, possibly pure Lumity, for he has yet to do pure Lumity. That is when The Animal In Me’s cover of that very song comes up, and everything lines up. A rock cover of a song about love struck teenagers with a female lead singer, nothing has ever been more Lumity worthy. The match is struck and the brain has booted up, for the song has been chosen. Anyway guys, point is: happy new year’s 🎉🎈🎊🥳🎊🎈🎉 Fingers crossed that 2021 is better then it’s predecessor. I love this it fits so well! I think changing pov was a good choice. I've also been looking for gay covers of this song for a while and the only one I knew of was by postmodern jukebox! I think it just fits an outcast wlw narrative really well. I also liked how iron maiden was reading azura.
