Teenage Fanclub is a pretty wel-kept secret here in the US - which is a crying shame. There is so much greet music that has come out of Scotland and they are among the best!

I saw this band live a lot from 1990 - 1995 and never once disappointed. The vocals were just so outstanding even live, loved those times.

Wow. I stumbled upon this song recently, and it has become one of my very favorites, at least for now. The harmonies near the end sounded really good. Now I'll be singing it to myself for months! lol

I hadn't realised this beautiful song was going to be on the new album, my copy of which arrived on lovely translucent red vinyl on Saturday and which hasn't been off my 30 year old turntable since. What a treat, and this is a great video.

We're goin' to hit the ceilin' There's no one in control My life had lost its meanin' I was a lonely soul Our satellite was fallin' We watched it crash and burn I hear the ravens callin' But I know the tide will turn You know I left a light on I left it on for you You know I left a light on For you It isn't any wonder You know I lost my way I could be lost forever Forever and a day I looked through every window I opened every door I walked alone in darkness I walked the lonely shore You know I left a light on I left it on for you You know I left a light on For you You know I left a light on I left it on for you You know I left a light on For you

Really disappointed😢. Not the same without Gerry. Really muted and bland...
@acoustically92012 жыл бұрын
I've loved this band for 30 yrs, but come on, this is a B-side at best. Nice enough but nothing going on really, no hooks, middle 8s or interesting solos. Think Norman and Raymond coulda dashed this off during first break while at school. Bland. What is Euros' role here? He writes quirky clever stuff...

I'm sorry.. I love your earlier songs, but I find this very middle of the road and... well.. dull. I'm not one for negative feedback, I usually just scroll by, but I'm just dissapointed

@rocket692182 жыл бұрын
It saddens me to agree but this isn't the band I fell in love with 30 years ago. I know artists change and mature but the direction of the last few albums are not something I want to listen to. I've been feeling that disappointment for a while now. I pre-ordered a coloured vinyl signed copy of 'Here' and when it arrived in the post I was excited and played it though headphones relaxing on my couch. I played through the album twice that day because I thought maybe it's a grower, but the truth was there wasn't a single memorable song on it and it was dull and completely depressing. A few upbeat pop songs now and again would be nice. I keep expecting new Teenage Fanclub albums to burst open with something like 'Living well is the best revenge' by REM, all jangly rickenbackers and harmony .... but they never do. It must be really bleak up in Scotland these days......
@rothr2 жыл бұрын
I know what you mean but you should think about it from his POV. They've been through so much and heard all of your type of crappy criticism. This actually made me cry. (wrote this while drunk last night :) )
@rocket692182 жыл бұрын
@@rothr it doesn't make me happy either, my top 50 albums of all time would include at least 3 Teenage Fanclub albums, maybe more. Grand Prix would probably make the top 20. I've seen them 5 or 6 times and they were amazing every time. They still are a great band, it's just not my kind of music any more. It's my fault, I shouldn't expect them to play rock music, when they haven't done for quite a while now.

This isn't TFC, it's Jonny playing under the TFC name to make more money. 👎
