The reason why Selena played all characters because they were all bad liars. Selena was a bad liar in the fact that she knew her dad was cheating, and had a crush on her teacher. The dad was a bad liar about cheating. The mom was a bad liar in hiding the fact that she knew about his cheating. The teacher was a bad liar also.

Out of all the Disney child stars I think Selena Gomez has made the smoothest transition. That right there is amazing and should be applauded for 👏 👏👏 As for the music video, I love it. It pulls you in, it has a story, and nonchalantly ends in a way that you weren't expecting. Love the ending

I agree that the video was very confusing at first but after watching it a few times it's growing on me? You have Selena playing four characters who are all bad liars in their own way (Selena and her crush, her dad with his affair, the coach and her flirting back, and her mom who obviously knows about the affair) and there's no mask despite the disguise - we know its still Selena even if she's dressed up as other people, symbolizes how everyone see's through their lies...so it's like a whole appearance vs. reality thing and I'm really digging it's weirdness.
