They are not strict at all this is pretty normal. Accept for the Facebook part perhaps but maybe they are protecting the kids from online bullies and such. At my house you don't have to ask to set the table, when you see someone cooking you set the table it's not that hard. When someone is doing the dishes you help them clean the table it's common decency.

There’s only 3 sets of parents through the whole series, and the US and the Australian series that genuinely cared. I immediately disliked the parents who banned smoking. Tbh, I don’t like how the mom kept on trying to push jade to talk about her dead dad. Like she told you many times she doesn’t like talking about.I get they are trying to help, but don’t force or push someone to talk. It’s the same with the dad always talking about him and his kid. It’s really not any of his business. Maybe it’s just me but I’d be more pissed off that these random people are trying to act like they are my actual parents let alone close friend. I don’t need to tell you anything, You need to respect peoples boundaries. She probably only told them cause she was tried if getting pressured by the mom. I know they have good intentions but like if someone says no you need to respect that, you aren’t a therapist. :/ but it’s just what I thought idk. They are really sweet parents tho, I give them that.

@Aosleosbus I agree but that is might be reason for her to talk about it. No offense but I myself still think of my death grandfather which I want to share with someone. I was problematic because of his death that result me to be in this kinda way. I get that she shouldn't force her to talk about it. But this girl might have the same issue as I had because this is exactly my behavior until I became rude to my parents. Like it would best to share with someone. Once you share you will felt in ease and you can let it go.
