Not much I knew about dental stuff but I came across your videos. I've been getting fillings and I had to have extra numbing juice and it was numb for awhile lol. I tried the massage trick and it really helped. Went away in like 20 minutes.

I'm sorry to hear about that. I'm experiencing similar symptoms (from a different procedure) in the lower left side of my lips & chin. I'm going to see an oral surgeon about treatment options. You may want to consider that too. Hopefully we can both get our dental problems resolved.

Hey, Whitney! Bit of an off-topic question I’ve got. You’ve made videos about the importance of tongue cleaning, and I agree! However, I use what’s called a “TUNG Brush” instead of a scraper or the Orabrush. I would use the Orabrush, but they’ve discontinued the cleaning foam for it. So the Tung Brush is a brush with short, stiff bristles on a flat, circular head. I’ve heard that stiffer bristles are better for cleaning the rigid surface of the tongue, and the flimsier bristles of a toothbrush only spread bacteria around. And I buy “TUNG Gel” made by the same people. The gel has zinc, which is supposed to neutralize sulfur that the bacteria in the tongue creates. Can I get a professional opinion on this? My thinking is that the gel is a cleaning solution to aid in the agitation of the brush, like using soap with a washcloth, rather than not using any solution at all. But I can’t find any professional/academic research on this product, so I pose it to you. Thanks!

A curiosity. I had a dental filling done to one of my upper molars and the anaesthetic caused a facial palsy! I couldn’t move half of my face for a while and my blinking was reduce which was very alarming. The dentist that did the procedure did not even blink and said it was “normal for this type of anesthesia” but this has never happened before! Is this at all normal, or is this a complication of incorrectly administered anaesthetic? Thanks :)

They may have hit a nerve, and if they did, it may take a while to get back to normal.

YES! That can happen. The facial nerve exits the skull near there and allows you to move most of your facial muscles, so accidentally numbing that nerve will cause that. It's nothing dangerous, just annoying while it lasts 😊
