Yes! Thank you. Haven't used the grill for a year and decided to use it today and could not figure out why it kept going to manual mode. Their website is useless so I came on here. Works perfectly now.

Not long had mine and yes my friend they can cook a banging sausage, bacon ,burger , not to mention the steaks. N know more manual crap. Im now the best cook in the house. Or so i think anyway 👍🏻🌭🥩🥓🍔🥪

Neukaliebrieren ! Dauert 30s. You will need something to use as a 1-1/2" spacer in the recalibration process. (I used two saucers.) An oven mitt or hot pad, a rolled length of aluminum foil, or even a wooden spoon can serve as this spacer. The height of the spacer needs to be at least 1-1/2" and no more than 2" to properly align the plates. For model GC702: 1. Plug the unit in. (Do not turn it on.) 2. Press and hold for the following buttons at the same time for 3 seconds: Burger + Fish + Manual and release the buttons. 3. The Steak button will flash 3 times. 4. Once the Steak button is solid, open the grill, place the spacer between the grill plates and close the lid. 5. Press the Steak button once and let it go, it will flash 3 more times. 6. Open the Grill and remove the spacer, then close the grill. 7. Unplug the grill for 10 seconds. 8. Plug the grill back in and it should operate correctly.

Have been having this same problem for the last couple of months. Hadn't contacted T-Fal as the grill is 18+ months old and out of guarantee so was thinking of having to get another. Will try this fix and see if it does the business - Many thanks

Thank you so much my friend. It was driving me mad whenever i put anything in it would go straight to manual. Watched about 5 videos before yours and no lie m8 not one worked. Seen your upload didnt even know i could get the heating plates off an when i looked at my lock it was stuck in but only very slightly it looked as it should. .anyway gave it a little tug powered it up and BOOM its now sound n no how to fix if happens again so once again thank you very much . NOW IM GONNA MAKE THE AWSOME SAUSAGE SANDWICH IT ALWAYS CREATES. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Has helped me, the contact under the grill plate 0.5mm bent to the left and the plate has again Kontakt.Grill heats up and flashes, everything OK. Thank you

When I am going to start, "tempcontrol" starts lighting and I can not choose a program. Wenn ich "start" drücke beginnt Licht Temperaturkontrolle, und ich kann das Programm nicht auswählen. Når jeg trykker på start, lyser Tempcontrol straks og jeg kan ikke vælge program.

Bei mir passiert das auch manchmal. Dann lässt es sich nicht mehr abschalten. Muss dann den stecker ziehen paar sekunden warten und wieder einstecken dann funktionierts wieder. Hast du schon rausgefunden woran es liegen könnte?

Mein Optigrill +XL spinnt auch.Kann man den auch selber kalibrieren? Dieser "Burger,Fish,Manual" Trick funktioniert heir nicht :(

may I ask why you didn't just contact Tefal or the place you bought it? By the sounds of it your cupboard might be full of things that have some kind of issue which you didn't even tried to fix.
