What do you think about the The TEFL Academy? (TTA). They‘re not as expensive as the ITA, do you know anything about it? Thanks in advance!

I’ve never done their courses myself, but they look legit. It looks like they also have ways for you to practice teaching what you’ve learned which could be really helpful. Best of luck! 💖✨

Was there an option to get a hard copy from them?

Great informative video❤ Do they provide job assistance?
@222soulmate13 күн бұрын
They offer lots of resources, but I don’t believe they provide job assistance. For me, I didn’t even have a Bachelor’s degree at the time, which is required in order to receive job assistance from other TEFL sites, so I didn’t think much about it. I’m considering using the TEFL Academy down the road after I complete my degree just for the job application opportunities they provide. ✨✨

I also took the same course a while back and got certified, but i feel that without an actual teaching practicum, the self-paced isn’t very helpful for teaching right away. Again it’s just my personal opinion but that’s how I am struggling with it now.

Absolutely! The certificate is basically just necessary to secure a job. I feel like most people who speak English and learned it in school are familiar enough with the language to teach it. I know that for me, when I'm learning a new language, I need my teacher to be able to speak my mother tongue. So equally important to passing TEFL is to be able to speak (at least at a basic level) the first language of the students you're teaching.

Do you have any tips on how to pass? its so hard to get 100. plz help
@222soulmate2 ай бұрын
Hi, sorry for late response! my tip is chatGPT - I used it to help me understand the concepts that were being taught in more detail. I'm American and the course is taught in UK English, so sometimes I would get confused 😅 AI really helped me by explaining it in a way I could understand. Also, I made some study notes in Quizlet and here is the link: quizlet.com/join/8qe4EPaxu?i=51isod&x=1bqt (you might have to send request to join, but I'll accept it when I see it come thru)

I extended my TEFL courses today; your video gave me motivation after relinquishing the courses for about 8 months. Congratulations btw and wish you the best. Please let me know if you have any advice. (Note: wanted to apply to the International TEFL academy as well, but not have enough $)

You got this! I’m so glad my video could inspire you to keep going! 💖💖💖 My main advice is, if you don’t understand a question, you can copy paste it into chat GPT and ask it to rephrase the question for you. And definitely learn the PPP and ESA lesson plans in depth because there end up being a lot of questions on it

In how many months you completed this course ?

It took about 3 months of dedication, but I spread it out over a year

did you get a job soon after? how is it looking for a job? did you already have a BA in English?
@222soulmate8 ай бұрын
I believe both these sites help you find a job after you get your certificate. International tefl academy seems to be a little better at this. I don't have a college degree (I had to start working right out of high school), but I'm thinking about pursuing higher education in the near future. Without a degree, it's nearly impossible to get a work visa to teach English in another country. That being said, you don't need to have a degree specifically in Teaching or in English. Any bachelors degree will do. It does seem to be a requirement that you're a native English speaker, though. I looked into it, and I can get a job in the US at any foreign language teaching school BUT I have to be able to speak the first language of my students. I'm studying Chinese and Spanish, and after I have my fluency certificates I'm planning to apply. I hope this helps you!

New sub here ..Very helpful video!! Can you rate the course from 1-10 based on it is difficulty? that would be helpful. I am a non-native English speaker.
@222soulmate6 ай бұрын
The grammar sections are difficult, but I’ve heard that sometimes this is easier for non-native speakers because of having to study English grammar in depth in school (in America, we don’t learn a lot of grammar). I found that they asked me to re-do a lot of my answers, but only with minor changes. Overall, if level 1 is watching a KZbin video on English and level 10 is taking a college course, I would give this particular program a 6.

Hi! My certificate says “200 hour level 5” course, BUT I believe 120 hours is all you need to be certified ✨💖

Hi! The work itself didn't take very long (I would say 1 - 2 months of study), but I kept putting it off so I had to buy a 1 month extension (even though you have access to the course for a year)
