The throwback haircuts are a different kind of nostalgic! I listened to them heavily in my freshman and sophomore years in college way back, an era ago, when I was a loner, all hung up on love and other things. I was probably the only straight guy I knew who loved them so much; I even got the labret, tattoos, and HIGH FASHION to show for it. And whenever I look back at those times, it's kind of icky, being reminded of when I was so young and did-young-things. It's probably why I don't listen to them as much these days. But this acoustic, more mature version (as someone else here in the comments had described it) DOES SOMETHING ELSE INSIDE OF ME. It's like they are inviting us to reminisce and look back upon those days and what they and it all meant to each one of us, with maturity and the clarity that comes with age. And now I'm actually a little bit closer towards letting go of any sort of bitterness I have for, and still remaining from those days; and it's kind of good to remember it all again.
