Using Recall to FLY through an ENTIRE SHRINE because I have a problem - Tears of the Kingdom

My favorite thing is completing the shrine in an obviously unintended way, and then thinking "Man, I hope I didn't miss learning a core game mechanic because of the way I solved this shrine."

that laser shrine at the beginning is supposed to be focused on ascend (i think the puzzle is named something like "aid from above") but apparently a lot of people just did a hail mary jump through that last laser grid instead of ascending through the little roof

The intended way to do the first room of the Riokog shrine is to use the rod as a kind of weird offcenter axle between the gears, so one gear can turn the other continuously.

I still feel dumb for doing multiple shrines without unlocking the paraglider. I didn't even realize it was a still a thing until I continues the main story slightly.

I accidentally softlocked myself on one of the shrines in the eastern side of Gerudo desert. I built a camp fire to hold down a button, not considering I had to release that button to get to the end of the shrine. I had to leave and come back.

I gotchu beat on Riogok. I melted ice over and over and over again to get the rock platforms and built a needlessly structurally secure ramp of half cubes to the end of the shrine. Also there is no softlock here. You can Ultrahand the bar through the door and blind bind it to the gears. Annoying, for sure. But no softlock.

yeah when i first solved it i used a series of ultrahand, recall and ascend to use those 2 platforms that can move up and down to solve it. No other parts necessary and no softlock

Solving Serutaboman Shine while taking all boards to the end is a fun way to solve the shrine. It will make even recallivators not overpowered

I almost softlocked myself in the Riokog shrine. In fact I was sure I *had* until I realized that you can climb the poles they give you! So you can stand the pole on end, ascend to the first platform, retrieve pole, raise it up and very carefully balance it on the platform. Use ultra hand to raise the top platform, ascend to that platform, grab the pole, recall the top platform up while sticking the pole to the platform and climb up it and get JUST ENOUGH height at the top to jump up. It was…..not elegant.

I didn't actually need the boxes at any point in the level, but I thought I WOULD, so I carried them with me to the end on my first playthrough. I then dropped them on Sonia and Rauru for wasting my time. xD

You should be able to get out of Riogok by using ascend and recall on the wall platforms to get to the end, no sticks required. That's how I did it my first time through because I couldn't be bothered with the gear thing....

I think in that last shrine i tried building a bridge and locking it in place with a disabled hoverstone wedged under the grid plate on the right side. But it's likely too practical.

for Riogok you can solve the second room with nothing by combining ultrahand, ascend, and recall to climb the platforms because they can slide up and down

btw u had rlly inspired me with these videos so i had done a couple soulations myself and for ihen-a shrine for the last part you dont have to use any of the platfors instead you cango to the chest area bring the ball up then use recall get on the ball and then u will be at the cheat area then use ultrahand plus recall to get some height glide to the near light on the wall grab the orb and u are finished(might have to done a horizontal ultra-recall to get to the second light i dont remeber it was like 130 hours of gameplay ago) but moral of story harder then you think because getting on the ball is inferating

4:51 My working solution to this schrine was so dumb but funny, at that point in i didn't knew about shield rockets If i remember it correctly i lifted the first platform up as much as possible. Then used recall to lift it up again so that i can get to the upper platform to lift it up with hand. Then used ascend on it followed from recall with enough height that link barely made it up

With the crystal shrines, I discovered that if you rapidly pick up and put down the crystal while on a floating platform or raft, it’ll move ever so slightly in the opposite direction. There’s one crystal in Tarry town that needs to be carried up the river and is ludicrously hard, stupid, and dare I say it, impractical, with this method Just a suggestion

Also, for the proving grounds shrines, couldn’t you just break all the weapons in the shrine to softlock most of them? I know some have zonai devices that can still be used, but I feel like at least some can be soft locked this way

Shrine #2 wasn't a soft lock, I did that accidentally when I did it, and you can grab a bar through the door. You need to place things further away to properly soft lock

I just realized "Only what is actively attached to link" and "No major glitches used inside of the shrines" ... this technically does not prohibit the glitch that allows you to fuse an entire functional zonai contraption to your shield.
