Aaaah, your playing always invokes so many feelings. It isn't important how hard or easy a song is, how much crazy jumps it has, it's the message it brings across that is important.

I think so too. Of course, it's fine once in a while to have fun with a song and arrange it with a lot of technical stuff (like my SAO2 "Courage" arrangement), but sometimes it's also good to take time to really understand the music~

I truly thank you for playing the piece of music that has affected me the most. About two months before I saw this film, my long distance relationship had ended and this movie was almost a biography of what happened to me. When I heard this piece I cried for a very long time and I'll never forget it.

I love how you changed it. It feels quieter, less accented than the original version. And yes, you did play it almost nervously, and it seems a bit slower than in the original. But that made it amazing. Thank you for the upload!!

Ahh, I really love this song- And it's played with so much emotion. And it reminds me of the movie- It was almost reflective of reality, I feel. An ambiguous ending I felt was neither too happy nor too sad but simply real- Left me feeling empty and full at the same time. Beautifully played~
@baconman1919

Yeah it really is just real. Its the type of story that just shows how much can change as life goes on. And the realisation of that fact is extremely depressing. The animation also added immensely to the feel of the story imo.

This was the first and probably only anime which, without any twists nor turns, no exciting plot devices, kept me on the edge of my seat for it's entire duration. When he waited in that train car not knowing when it'd move again, i cried for him.

The person i'm about to talk about is the most amazing person you will ever be able to meet, the person whom I fell in love with. I never felt anything close to how I feel to her with anyone else. She is the only person in this world I have ever felt natural with, the only one who could really understand me and my feelings. When I listen to this, all I can think of is One more time, to hear her beloved voice to smell her addicted smell to see her pretty face One more chance, to be with her, to be the person who will try to make her feel like how she deserves. The more precious someone to you, the harder for you to accept the fact that there will be no more time, there will be no more chance, and all left are memories. She is the most precious person for me, and anywhere, at anytime I will be willing to do anything for her good. If you love someone, don't do the same mistake I did, do not take those good times for granted. Experiance the moment as it's your last chance to be with them. Allways let them know how you feel and never take them for granted. Thank you Maya, for being the person you are, I will never be able to forget you, you will allways have that spot in my heart, then now and forever.

This song brings back so many memories and feelings from the movie. Sometimes the simplest and cleanest songs are the most impactful, and I can really feel the emotions streaming through your music. The striking feeling that sometimes feelings don't reach, and the beautiful way this movie describes the devastating fact that life isn't something you can fully control, no matter how much you want to. Listening to this song is like making a journey throughout the entire movie, and your arrangement takes me back to the time I first watched it. Beautiful as always.

I find that simple things are often the most beautiful as they are stripped down to the very core that they want to express, without any noise that complexity often brings, and thus expresses it much more powerfully.

I never thought of this as an happy ending. I felt so sad and 切ない(what is the English word for this??) throughout the entire thing. But maybe it is some kind of an happy ending. Maybe it is just I don't know, because maybe I'm just a child. But I like this piece. It goes in my top of bgm. Maybe #1. It is just, very 癒し, very comforting (I feel 癒される is a better word to describe it (English is also a good language) ishter-kun. By looking at this video, you are so much better in those dynamics in each note, and the looks (classical style of hand-looking (softness, bouncyness, etc.) 憧れるーw Please 頑張ってyour university!!

I know what you mean when you get sad because people don't fully appreciate or explore the piece because they're so focused on the technical requirements. IMO, technical excellence is important, but the ability to be expressive is just as important. A piece played well will shine and be interesting no matter how 'easy' it may be technically. Phrygian Gates as an example. Keep up the good work :)

You can do it my friend. You will be better. Trust me. It’s not easy for sure I understand. But to really realise we only have one life to live. We might be better able to slowly accept the unacceptable. To understand what we don’t understand. Time helps I hope. I hope it does for you.

I never found 5 centimeters per second to be sad or hit me in the feels. I thought music was nice though. If anyone feels like sharing, I'd like to know how it affected them. Edit: I'm putting this here cause some people wanted to make baseless assumptions, my experiences with love are not the reason why I didn't find the movie sad.

The first time I watched it when it came out, I felt the same as you. I thought the anime was overall mediocre and not emotional, although the soundtrack and animation were stunning. I watched it again recently, after living, loving, and hurting, with people for many years. Having gained new views and experiences, especially with romance itself, 5 cm per second invoked much more emotion in me. Mainly because now I can relate strongly to the characters and their situations, it brought up past feelings and melancholy for me, which made the anime very relatable and bittersweet for me. I can understand if it's just not for you, but you might be also just watching it at the wrong time in your life as well :)

Every time i listen to this song.. I'll cry everytime.. brings so much memories back... Its like a surge you cant control. Ive played this song a few times during class and im usually alone in the room playing and while playing and crying at the same time i saw my friends peaking, watching me... I put all my heart into it.But damn i was so embarrassed afterwards.. I loved every single moment while playing this song.

5 Centimeters Per Second, and the speed at which cherry blossoms fall; it's an allegory to life. Acceleration due to gravity is 9.8 m/s^2. Compared to that, 5 cm/s is very, very slow. Like cherry blossoms, most of us, at the beginning of our lives, are all clumped together, and close to our friends, family, and loved ones. But as we grow, slowly, but surely, we grow apart from most of them. Aside from our family, it is extremely rare for us to be able to be with the same people we were close to in the beginning, just like how rare it is for one cherry blossom to be close to another when it falls to the ground. Thus, the title of this amazing movie, and the beautiful message it brings. To feel from this beautiful movie takes a good amount of maturity and experience. It's okay not to be able to relate to the movie. Perhaps even better; you're one of the luckier ones who haven't felt too much attachment or regret towards the past. I'd like not to share my personal experiences regarding this movie, and hide myself behind the anonymity of the internet. However, the first time I saw this movie, after I saw the trains pass by and heard the End Theme play, I just had the urge to lie alone in my bed, roll up into a ball, remember all the memories, and simply cry.

Babolat3216 I just grew chills reading your comparison. I also did not really have much experience to relate to the series just yet. But damn, your analogy is just so, so, full of impact for me.
