The more I get into Shelly, the more I understand why Selena loved her the way she did. The story of Shelly spending the weekend and getting tonsleitus is so sweet. Selena took her to the doctors office, got her medications and made her food. Their friendship seemed so genuine and I know she misses her friend a lot 💔

Pfft Selena was for sure not the only Thani female artist. Elsa Garcia is another good one. Most young Selena fans don’t know anything about the tejano genre. If you grew up in Texas as a Mexican American like I did in the late 80s and early 90s ya know a lot more tho I suppose lol. When I was a little girl I was around this music all the time. I hated it as a kid it was the music your grandma and older people listened to at backyard bbqs getting wasted off of miller light. Now as an adult I appreciate it just for nostalgia sake Lol

Shelly o selena?

I don't actually speak or understand spanish. Well i understand very little but I'm a huge Selena Quintanilla Perez fan who has taught myself enough spanish to understand Selena's music. I can't help but love Shelly too though. For one she was very close friends of Selena but also because of an interview i saw of her after Selena passed away. She said that even though Selena always won every single award at the TMA's, she couldn't help but love her anyway. For one she was so sweet but for another, if she had to loose to anyone she rather loose to Selena. I've loved Shelly ever since... 💞💞

Said fantastic to see old tejano singers we want to see the new talent in Chicano and tejano music but the old DJs won't play them that was the downfall on the radio because they stuck in their own ways that what happened when you get old people especially DJs they won't play the new bands you have to remember we don't mind listen to Mom and Pop and Grandpa music I've been listening to tejano music back in the 60s but I used to play music too so you have to keep up all the new music like Robert plant's there from led Zeppelin remember us as we were and support the new bands can get better than that
