Scotty, I honestly came across this video by accident. Liked & subscribed. I am very picky when it comes to electrical. Working on anything with a motor during the late 60’s. I did not hear you discuss the relationship of the alternators end housing and ground. Reman part are common, but the era I grew up, we rebuilt everything. The back of the alternator is where ground is created. Normally, it is ground thru the bracket holding it on. It needs a ground to the battery as well (If Done) to the engine as well. Using star washers (Internal or external) but this cuts thru paint. Oh No, Rust. Use dielectric grease grease. You spoke of boat dealers, they use dielectric grease on every connector. It is sold in large tubes. It’s sold in home improvement stores in the auto section very reasonable. Use petroleum jelly when needed. Buying a good digital multi- meter (DMM) is important. Lots of videos show you how to become comfortable with it. Use them. I have a Fluke 87 V that is sent in every 5 years for calibration. But find a good amperage clamp, I have four. But use it on your starter, fuel pump, headlights. People say; “How many amps does my fuel draw?” Well, if you test enough at the fuse box, using a fused jumper wire, you can get answers. If you understand how a DC motor works, the brushes pass over commutator plates to create a temporary magnet. If the fuel filter is plugged, amps climb. If the brushes or plates are worn, amps drop. Every time a guy says “Check the brakes and stuff, we are going on a long trip thru the Rockies to the Grand Canyon! Ok, first, you use your brakes is three weeks, going to work than your entire trip. But age and mileage, look at the fuel pump while running. Disconnect your fuel, place amp clamp on the starter. When cold, light bulbs, starters, blowers fans all have low resistance and allow higher amperage to pass thru when first turned on. This is called “Inrush Current”. This is the highest point of current flow. Today’s starters use permanent magnets for the field. This alone eliminates almost half the current the device uses. Same with fans, blower motors, etc. As soon as inrush current passes, then the coils or filaments get hot, temps increase and current drops...but stays steady. Become familiar with voltage drop, as this is the BEST and easiest way to diagnose a loss of voltage. Things change when heated. This works when current is passing thru the circuit. Turn it on, make it work, use a simple DMM ($20-$500) makes no difference. Also, guys get freaked out about meter leads...Red here or Black? Make no difference because it will just show a (-) negative sign but still the same reading. In a series circuit, the device uses all of the voltage. This is why the blower fan is on high, reads 12.8 volts. Now, if it reads lower, that’s resistance. Say it reads 9.67 volts. Keep it easy! Leave one lead at the fan, and the next easiest place it the fuse box. If it reads 9.67 volts, remove the switch and check again. (Note; High is usually done thru a relay) but you get the idea. A starter will hit 110 amps then drop to 85 amps while cranking. Correct? It depends on the year and type of starter. Magnets? Gear reduction? I don’t know! But, if you you don’t test it you’l never know unless you test it. A lab scope using amp clamp or voltage, will show (Let You See) you what’s going on in that circuit. A series circuit is like old Christmas lights. Pull one light and the whole string goes out. A parallel circuit remove one bulb, the rest get more amps but stay on. Sorry to be long, but after teaching 6 different electrical classes, some want to be comfortable with what they are seeing on their DMM, while quickly & accurately finding the problem. ASE Master-Retired I later apprenticed with a guy who worked 24 years in that Chrysler dealer as a tech, quit and worked at a “One Stop” speed shop for 7 years. He did everything but told me he learned more in the speed shop, than his entire time at the dealer. I learned almost everything during this time.

Someone posted this video and after watching this I am adding a megafuse to my LS Swap. I ordered the ANM Mega holder and will be doing it just like you showed here. Thanks for posting this and yes, I am using your motor mounts in my LS Swap ;)
