Nice playthrough for a very nice game. At 2:40:00 for the bot action Ra : correct me if I'm wrong, but the corners do not give 6 points. The Bot ignores colour edges for matching, but it also ignores the bonuses on the squares. So this would give only 5 points (2 for the tile, 2 touching sides and 1 house). Actually there is a 6 point square: the upper right square with 2 papyrus: 2 for the tile, 2 touching sides to the two previously put tiles and 2 houses. Same at 2:51:00 the bottom left corner would only give 4 points (1 for the tile, 2 touching sides and 1 house). This would give you a bigger victory!

Thanks for the playthrough. Very interesting. I'm just learning this game, but I noticed the game got out of sync when a rotation was missed around 2:23:40 when you and Botankhamun had 2 dice each. If that rotation had happened, you would've had just 2 rounds left to take you up to 4 dice each and the final rotation would've triggered end game scoring. As it was, I think 20 rounds were played instead of 16. Great fun though and it looked very hard to do when also controlling those amazing cameras. Thanks again.

This is a more straightforward bot than the one in Teotihuacan, which is a plus for me. It's actions give points in a clear and consistent way, the way it chooses die is simple and provides a challenge. The upside for me is that it doesn't demand all that much brain power to manage it; some bots (Teo is a little like this) is like taking a whole turn managing it's rules and steps, so it detracts from the experience of playing and harms the game the player is trying to play.

that's a great observation on the Teo bot. I wanted to use it to tighten the game at 2p but there's so many rules and things to consider that it's counter intuitive to the flow of the game. I wonder if one could change the rules for it so it's easier to handle.

@@Nain1982 there’s probably someone out there who can do it. I wish they would. I got Black Angel this year and it’s solo mode is stellar. Easy rules, easy steps, doesn’t require you to manage the rulebook, it scores well and easily and will totally beat you unless you’re careful with your plays. I really think developers should look to it as inspiration. I play games in two players like 95% of the time, so having a bot to make a game fuller is something I’ve always wanted, but I still haven’t found a game that does it well.

@@shinjial Me too! I haven't tried solo for Black angel (only played at 2). It seems that Tekhenu (yet to try) would benefit from using bot at 2p. I've always felt this way about Teo. Thus, the interest if there was an "easier' ruling to use it. The only solos I play are uwe's :)

@@Nain1982 if you feel like it you should try the solo for BA; maybe you have some time to kill - takes around an hour. I highly recommend it. I felt that from watching this game. Otherwise it seems like the board would change very little. Like even this game I felt that most of the scoring and interactions with the map happened at the later part of the game.

During the 1st Maat Phase you forgot to select the Destiny cards for yourself and bot.

I like a challenge in my solo games, but they also have to be fun. So feel like I could never win would be off putting. Do you feel like this bit could be too much of a challenge that you don’t have the flexibility to try different things?
