Marduk wasn't in the picture until the time between Tekken 3 and 4. From what I understand, (the first) Armor King was suffering from some sort of cardiac anomaly that caused him to sometimes get sick and be in pain. The fainting spell in the cutscene is an effect of this anomaly.

For those who want to know why Armored King didnt participate its because Murdok (if i tell his name well) killed him but it was Armored King's brother who died so in Tekken Dark resurection Armored King appeared to avenge his brother and to destroy Murdok (sorry for my wrong english .o.)

I so much prefer tekken 2 to tekken 3 for a number of reasons 1)it's so 90s (I was a kid then) 2)the music is sooo much better (especially Kazuya's theme is poetry in motion, it\s so dark) music in further installments just sucks 3)the plot (if u can call it that) is darker and more exciting (Kazuya as the tournament's host at the top of the skyscraper) + devil's as his alter ego 4) main characters like Paul, Nina and Kazuya are in their 20s, Heihachi's hair is still black so it makes me think of youth) 5) no riddiculous characters like some fatso, raven, alexander or murduk = the game is just so bad ass. in tekken 4,5 and 6 characters are unnaturally bigger and look just clumsy

Tekken 2 had the best atmosphere of all Tekken games, but I still think Tekken 3 was overall the best in the series, not to mention that I like the white haired Heihachi more than the black haired. Also Bob (the fat guy), Raven, Lars and Marduk are not in Tekken 3. Tekken 4 did it good, but since Tekken 5 the series started to go downhill, characters like Paul and Heihachi became jokes, but at least Kazuya stayed the badass he always was

I sold my tekken 5 and bought 4 coz 5 is too dark, too fast and the soundtrack is annoying. 4 is full of bright colours, a feast to the eye, the pace is just right and the soundtrack is quite good (beach, airport and honmaru themes) There are fewer characters in 4 which encourages one to learn the moves of each character better. As for 5 I regret they didn't reintroduce Kunimitsu and P.Jack. What an idiot introduced kuma/Kangaroo

Egon Jensen To be honest to me tekken 2 is my favorite in the franchise the characters are way better for me until I noticed that on tekken 3 even though it's considered the best in the franchise but Nina looked like a 50 whore and then there's that ridiculous log character heihachi looked like shit and ogre was ok but his transformation looked like straight up dog shit the only characters that I liked on tekken 3 was bryan fury and jin kazama oh yeah and the stages looked way better on tekken 1 and 2 than on tekken 3 and honestly I don't really like the music on tekken 3 either tekken 2 has the best soundtrack out all of the tekkens that I played well that's my opinion 🤔🤔🤔

Not to mention what REALLY killed him. Marduk fighting with A.K probably caused a violent reaction with the Cardiac Anomaly and, by the time anyone realized what had happened, he was gone. Marduk killing him, though still his fault, was essentially an accident.

I was just checking to see why he wasn't in Tekken 3 and I found another reason why. The first King was attacked and supposedly killed by Ogre. However, Armor King saw a new fighter with a jaguar mask step into the wrestling ring in order to save the orphanage, and Armor King decides to train him to become the second King. And it was Tekken 4 where he was killed by Marduk and that is why King II entered, for revenge

@253magnum Marduk killed Armor King I which was King II's master. That's why in Tekken 4 King II seek revenge from Marduk, but let him live in the end. At the start of Tekken 5, King II saw Marduk wearing Armor King's mask and challenged King II, after the fight, Marduk stated that he wasnt the imposter, thus King II and him became friend. In Tekken 6, King II and Marduk decided to compete in TKOIF Tournament 6, to learn the true identity of the man wearing Armor King's mask (Armor King II)

When they got rid of ArmorKing’s dragon punch in TTT1. I was confused why they got rid of it. But it was probably for the better so they didn’t want to make him a grappler version of the Mishimas. To be honest I do want to pick up Tekken 6 and play as ArmorKing again. His ending in Tekken 6 was very grim. We never see a Tekken 7 ending, so I doubt we ever will. I am enjoying ArmorKing in Tekken 7.
