I played as Dragunov of the first time today for about 20 minutes, and he became my new favourite character, INSTANTLY! it's that forward, forward lp+rp move, it's so BRUTAL looking!

I agree with you I got the feeling that the Dragnov player wasn't playing at his/her "full" potential on purpose in order to analyze if the Asuka player's has any patterns. At the start of the 3rd round, you can see that the Dragnov player had predicted all of the opening attacks that the Asuka player likes to do and successfully countered them, thus leading to his/her victory. to be honest, 3D fighting games don't appeal to me as much as 2D ones, but this one looks worth trying out!

I totally agree with you. I've been playing tekken since the 2nd one came out, and they are by far the best. No other fighting games compares.

Dragunov was my all time favorite character in Tekken DR and I could certainly juggle with the best of them, but it concerns me quite a bit that when they hit the ground, their legs go high up in the air, making for even further juggling opprotunities that start to make it a little rediculous and even bullshitty. One trip up into the air shouldn't cost you half, if not more of your health meter as far as I'm concerned.

Dragunov is awesome, he's the first character I really got into in Tekken 6.

For competitive gaming where people put time into learning the basics of a character or the general system, the same core stuff is a necessity. Much like Madden, they just add little bits and pieces. If they were to overhaul the main system over and over again, people in general would have to master ANOTHER system again...instead of the few upgrades and getting right into the next installation of the franchise. It's called building upon a foundation. Hope that explains some stuff.

They won't. Namco actually uses Sony's Cell hardware on Tekken 6 arcade machines so, you can see this is some part of some long-standing partnership between the 2 companies, since games form the tekken series only appear on Sony consoles.

i totally agree with you, i also have a PS3 and i think xbox 360 is getting one of the greatest fighting games in history. forget about who's the best system enjoy the game thats more important.

Dragunov is the best together with Devil Jin. I love sinister characters^^ And his techniques have funny names. "Hammer&Sickle" and "Spetsnaz Assault" are two of my fav names^^

theres a lot of moves u can connect from the roll he does. as he completes the roll, u do left punch, it will launch ur opponent. or u can press both punch buttons and he will do a tackle as he comes up. most ppl seem to block the roll attack but they don't see the attack that comes right after the roll. it works out just fine for me.

Not to be defensive, but what you said about timing, mind games, combos, etc, that really exists in really most other fighting games. I am probably one for variance and innovation. I love LBP and my favorite character in Tekken is Yoshi. It's just that for a new game, so little changeI guess the same goes for Guilty Gear XX Accent Core, but that is pretty much more competitive than casual. However, anyone that thinks Virtua Fighter and DoA are good fighting games, then I laugh.

It's Dragnov in Tekken 6, Tekken Official says Dragunov for Tekken 6 BR, I guess it doesn't really matter :)

@Hydro64 not true at all. Tekken maintains all of the key elements of fighting games: spacing, setting up moves, corner traps, counters, mix-ups, etc. Learning combos is just the first step.

Wow the air juggles and combos are awesome... that's what really screws over other people in this game it seems. Asuka has some nice combos! I don't know what happened in the end though... maybe the Dragnov player was just holding back?

I'm not an asuka player but she's has got some of the best looking moves in the game that make up some beautiful combos, third only to Xiaoyu than Lili.

I see what you mean by "no substance" i own sf4 and i think its good. It's just that i grew up with tekken and i just like it better. Tekken is all about timing of your moves, tricking the other players, and using huge combos when your opponent is unguarded. I'm not a tekken fanboy or anything, don't get me wrong, it's just that people have their own preferences like u and me.

For those bitching about juggles, okizeme, wallsplats and the like, play Jin, Incredible middles, Does most of his damage from pokes and punishing, and the best turtler in the game, due to his move set, stance and parry, Drag and Asuka can also play defensively, Though Drag can berserk people, and Asuka has tons of nasty infinite combos, Surprisingly Paul and Marduk can also have a defensive/punishment game, Kaz aint bad for it, In essence any punishment/reversal/tackle people.

yupp! it's far more fun too! I just played it in my arcades with dragunov. While juggling is easier, characters are given more health so that the battle will last longer. Bob still needs fixing.

the only reason i hate Asuka is because you can string pretty much any of her moves into one long combo. shes a great character, and once you learn how to alternate between the 10 million combos she can possibly have, you win really easily, but shes very confusing to fight. kinda like Eddy/FemEddy
