Lee is such an awesome character. It's a shame there's not much play of him in the tournament scene. Glad that this guide is here!

he4s mid tier at best and easy to bully sadly . but he's fun to play !
@justdoutha806
@justdoutha806 6 жыл бұрын
A tier is mid tier as far as i know and he's very weak against sidesteps almost both directions and his whiff punishes are bad and his harder moves are not as rewarding , and like said in the video his mid range game is lacking too.Also showing what players can do with him is not a good excuse honestly because there are similar players doing just as good with panda and Lars , he's good but he requires alot of honesty and commitment which is a disadvantage in a clutch situation. but yes he's around A-B tiers ( changes between death matches and tournaments )

I'am a big fan of his actually but to put it simply : he''s rewards are small for the moves that you need to commit to and i don't really care about his range and mid game because like you said it depends on the player mostly but while other hard characters get better rewards on their mix-ups , lee lacks that intimidation you know , i can grantee you that i would not duck or get scared if lee tries to mix me up unlike a mashima for example , so if you don't get people to duck and your whiff punishers are not that bad how can you get big damage or atleast a lead on them ? yes he's a poke based character but at some point reads will start to come out and you have to use another plan , i'd love if they give him a launching low not just that sweet slide but i'am afraid not , that's why you have to bully him because YOU CAN. hell i've seen a game where all a Claudio have to do to get out of his slide mix-up is to hop kick in his face. i really love Lee but am not trying to make him sound bad because you can get away with winning with good pokes all the time but when it matters most Lee won't be the one you need which is in the clutch. but in the end winning with him feels alot satisfying because of your commitment and honesty to him gets you there no a dp or an armored launcher or a running 2 lol. and most importantly,he's fun !

Thank you guys very much for the video! Much appreciated :) I'd like to add a few more things if you don't mind. -You can do the just frame triple fang by pressing b+1,2,1,2 if you wish. -You can sidestep in hitman stance, which is situational but pretty neat nonetheless and also side step cancel a mist step. -Also if you have canceled a counterhit into hitman and are feeling particularly fancy, you can pick up with iws 2,3 in addition to d2. Much more tricky to execute without much pay off but useful near a wall 👍 Edit : You can cancel HMS into full crouch and enforce a ws mixup from there.

Great guide. I tend to watch all of these, even if I dont play the characters since I'm new and all this just helps me understand the game better all around. Your stuff and one other KZbinr (dont want to advert for others here) are the best Tekken tutorials out there, and I want to thank you for the work you put in. Its got to be an enormous amount of time invested. It *IS* appreciated. For whatever it's worth, Id like to just cast a vote for a Steve video as soon as you have the time. I still dont have my mains settled on to learn the game with - taking my time - but Steve is my.. I dunno, dream main. I just feel like his difficulty, coupled with not being able to find succinct, well presented info and advice has made me shuffle him to the back, to revisit in a few months when i know the game better. I cant help but dream of a Steve video by you, the quality and focus in your videos is second to absolutely no one, and I'd LOVE to see Steve through that lens, as I imagine it would bring tremendous clarity to a character like him.

That Blasted Salami I am a special kind of stupid. I got to the condo part of the video and wandered off to see how hard the b2 MS cancel loops were. Lee is a particular favorite of mine but my execution isn't all that great, and I've been told not to bother with him.. so I got distracted and didn't watch the very very end of the video lol. I know an exact date is likely not an option, but any idea on the general time frame for the Steve video? I am currently EXTREMELY happy to hear that.

Very nice video. Great introduction for new Lee players! I know it's hard to go back and fix easily, but d+3 is i15, not i16. This difference can be useful at times such as d+1~F, d+3. d+1 on hit gives +6, so that cancel to standing recovery to d+3 will beat anything cleanly on frames (even their low jab), whereas FC,d/f+4 instead will trade (still not bad, as long as their 6 damage won't kill you). ... granted, FC,d/f+4 is safer on block, too (-14 normal or -13 with special cancel instead of d+3 HMS cancel to -15). Also, unless it finally got patched, FC,d/f+4,3, [HMS] is actually worse than no HMS cancel. I tested with Kaz and FC,d/f+4 was getting punished by WS+2 (-16). HMS is weird in the way it makes some moves recover better, and some worse. Anyway, great vid, and excellent production value. If you are looking to do more Lee stuff in the future, let me know and I can try to help out if possible!
@ThatBlastedSalami
@ThatBlastedSalami 6 жыл бұрын
Thanks very much for this info! We've been misinformed by RBNorway then :) rbnorway.org/lee-t7-frames/ Yeah since Lee lost autoblock on HMS a while ago now, it is misleading to talk about FC,d/f+4,3 being safer. Lee is one of those characters we want to eventually do a "complete breakdown" for at some point in the future, since there's so much to him. I had to cut down a lot of this script to squeeze it under 30 min...and still failed! Will definitely let you know when we start working on it.
@TZMurakumo
@TZMurakumo 6 жыл бұрын
Yea, I've too quickly accepted some things from RBNorway, too... I wonder if part of it is because they were also populating frame data from test versions. d+3~4,[HMS]~B will always block i16, but but FC,d/f+4~3,[HMS]~B definitely gets tagged by Kazuya WS+2 (at least -16). FC,d/f+4 without the cancel and only be punished by Kaz with FC,d/f+4 (pretty sure it's -13 now and i14 can be blocked).
@TZMurakumo
@TZMurakumo 6 жыл бұрын
I did a bit more testing into this... Close, FC,d/f+4 is -14 and FC,d/f+4~3,[HMS] is "-12" to execution, but -13 to ability to block (meaning you can block from 14, but it takes a special cancel, too). Far range (end of the kick) should be one frame safer on both versions. ... while d+3~4,[HMS]B blocks on the first frame of recovery, FC,d/f+4~3,[HMS]B doesn't block until its 5th frame of recovery or more (why Kaz WS+2 tags Lee). Lee can HMS 3 to power crush this (only works vs. i16 and higher because of starting frames of crush), or punch parry. FC,d/f+4~3,[HMS]... ... to [HMS] 3 power crush... beats i16, stuffed by i15 and lower ... to [HMS] b+1+2 punch parry... works vs. i14 punches, loses to i13 and lower ... to [HMS] qcb (buffered into recovery frames... tight timing, but not JF) cancels to allow Lee to block from i14 (meaning it's effectively -13 in terms of punishability... one frame better than no cancel, but requires tight timing and practice on the cancel for block).

This game has ruined Lee beyond repair, Any player that I play against never respects him. He is at a disadvantage or very minimal advantage on hits. He has the worst tracking in game none of his move ever track, His 1+2 is his only good homing but has utterly rubbish range and is quite slow, not to mention if you try it to combo it now with df4, b33,f~b24, his screw will always whiff if the knockdown was at a distance, And trust me when I say this he has the worst punishers in game, specially any move with negligible push back is safe against Lee. He is specially weak against db1 jab, yes he has hop kick but it has poor range and quite bad on block, and his uf4 cant crush down jabs after d3. I feel so frustrated when I play with him, he was one of my mains but now when I play him, I get so annoyed, he is this piece of shit who has no good pokes, no good homing, no good punishes, zero pushback on his on launch punishable moves or any moves in general. And if you side stepped and launch punished an opponent then you will struggle to get even 40 to 50 points of damage of a combo. I am so angry right now, I want to know other Lee players, do you have to change your style of play in Tekken 7 cause he sure is an absolute shitty character in the game.

I'm kinda sad that I had to learn most of these in the lab and then you guys suddenly made a guide about him. :s EXCELLENT job as always. I'm looking forward to the Steve one. *Secretly laughs at the new players that will pick Lee up but will probably drop him*

Your talent its just absurd, very well done and thank you for the guides! Also, Kazuya will always be our dummy target haha. P.S.: As a Main Steve player, Loved the outro. That was sick. Cheers from Venezuela.
