I have to go with ttt2, the game was more of what had me into tekken in the first place, No projectiles (or very few), no rage arts, no armor moves, overall better customization. T7 is still a great game, I just didnt enjoy it as much because of some minor factors. But yeah, def two of my fav games ever.

Avarast Damn right. I was excited for T7 but it was an ok fighting game and the reason for that it’s because of the arcade mode being short and confusing at the end when Akuma disappear and characters that I need to pay but was already in the game in the past so it doesn’t make any sense. There were so many weird things about the game and it didn’t play that much at all. TTT2 will always be the best in the series including the classic and tekken 6. Awesome game

Tekken 7 is just the same BS that Tag 2 had, just in a new format. Tag 2 allowed you to take advantage of the weirdness, which added to the depth, whereas Tekken 7 is just an unpredictable mess from time to time. People warping on walls, Rage Arts going wherever they want, the camera man having a seizure, multiple inconsequential slow-mos... All tag 2 needed was the balancing TLC that Tekken 7 got, and it would have been perfect. It only takes one patch to remove CH b+1,4, but they abandoned the game too early.

Maybe we're all just spoiled from having TT2 for so long before T7. But even Tekken 6 had a huge Tekken Force mode with a legit arcade mode for each character - good endings included. So you can't even say they held back on content for 7 because of all the resources put into the main Mishima Saga. Though as you say, online practice and saving replays would be pretty damn amazing. I'd love to just have long practice sessions with someone who knows how to use a character well that I'm bad against. I'd love to see my replays and find out things I could've done differently in the last match.

I agree with you Jae. I find ttt2 tag system to be really fun. The combos were more creative and a whole lot of different possible combos. If they work the tag system and the balance of the characters a ttt3 would do so much better. I never stopped playing ttt2 that's all wanted to play every time but with tekken 7 I feel like the fire the game is down. Tekken 7 gameplay overall is super good smooth better balancing but. Is missing so much stuff that is not the same to me as ttt2. Ttt2 was my first tekken I took serious and invested so much time to learn. If we get a game like a ttt2 with t6 customization and t7 smooth gameplay or even much better and smoother gameplay it would be awesome. We care for this game but the developers just don't listen to their community. As other games that developers take the community advice or maybe some ideas. Both games are great to me but t7 is missing stuff and characters that I really miss. Ttt2 was way more fun to me.

TT2 stages were so varied and alot were themed from different locations around the world. You also had npcs cheering and doing all sorts of stuff in the background. Not to the mention a fully customizable Tekken Tunes option which let you choose your own music from your hard drive for every stage and menu screen. Whenever I play it on PS3 it's cool to always hear all my custom music I set to fit each stage to my liking.

Audio desync at 4:37 I’m totally with you on this idea. People jumped on a hate wagon for tag 2 towards the end of its lifespan and overlooked aspects of tekken 7. Bowling is not online, customs are limited, stages lack diversity, and no tutorial for such a difficult game. There’s a lot than should be appreciated from tag 2 i just feel like people looked at the difficulty and damage to write it off. Also story in T7 is by far the worst

I grew up loving Tekken for all of the things it had that games like Street Fighter didn't have. Better arcade modes, more side content, customization, more cohesive narrative to follow, the list goes on. Tekken 7 got rid of all of that and added nothing to compensate other than a story mode that retconned most of the previous Tekken canon and overall it was just really dreadful. As good as the core gameplay is I can't say that as a Tekken fan its one of my favorite games in the series

I do see the argument why people prefer Tekken 7 and why people prefer Tag 2. For me personally, the Tag games were always my favorites in the Tekken series because it’s a cast reunion, and the tag mechanic adds more to the gameplay. And that’s a lot for me to say, because I didn’t like Tekken 6 combos, but I got used to them with some time in Tag 2, because it felt more fun. I am a little bothered by the fact that Tekken Ball was exclusive to the Pee U version of Tag 2, but that’s beside my point with Tag 2. With Tekken 7, the thing I like aside from the gameplay is how it kind of feels like the development team is taking chances every chance they get with Tekken 7, with adding in new mechanics to the rage system, adding guest characters, and a real cinematic story mode. Now while I grew up with going through traditional arcade ladders to get character endings, I do welcome the cinematic story mode, but I kinda wish there was a little bit of an arcade ladder. I like the addition of Tekken Bowl, that’s always fun with friends if we feel like it. I kinda hope that another Tekken Ball mode will come in as DLC, but that’s probably wishful thinking. I do agree though with there being only one floor break stage in the game, and I hope we’ll see another one come to Tekken 7 in the future. Overall, I’ve been satisfied with both games and what they offered, and I can only imagine what the development team has up their sleeves next in Tekken 7 and beyond.

I think that I'm in the minority that prefer Tekken 7 over Tag 2. I like the combo system more in T7 than TTT2 (the bound system can go to hell for me), and T7 is more balanced and more fun to me. In Tekken 7 I didn't even care about if there were some modes that were missing: in fact I never cared about team battle, survival mode etc... And the customizition... Don't care much about that either,but that's just me. Plus, I like the Tekken 7 roster more than TTT2 one, and the new characters added: yes, I like it more. yes, the newcomers are great... Except Gigas (sorry Jae😅) and that means I like a character like Chloe (she's my main after all). And TTT2 was just a spin-off with no story mode (why people keep thinking that there is a story mode in that game?), and I got bored pretty quickly. About the stages, I like some of T7 and some of TTT2, but I hope that one day will be back with the T4 stages. I respect Kingjae opinion, as you should respect mine. Nice video Jae 🙃

I didn't even realize he hit 30k and now almost at 40k subs. I heard Tekken 7 had a smaller budget than tag 2 because tag 2 was a flop. A person who doesn't play other Tekken games is not gonna stay if there is like barely any single player content for most of the cast. What they did with the side characters is pathetic and is basically one or two paragraphs of story that doesn't do anything for the character and something like what they did with Claudio and Ling should have been in the main story and expanded on.

Tekken 7. The gameplay experience is what Im all bout. Although I wish they added a tag mode, I can understand why they did it. They wanna get serious on one-on one battles and they wanna make it more tournament type. Tekken 7 challenges me, I have thrown other fighting games name it: Injustice, Mortal Kombat, DOA, Soul Calibur, Street Fighter, I have em all. But Tekken's depth, unique gameplay exprerience, a very hard learning path makes me stay and feel like this game is for me. It is the game you would not appreciate its contents but if you are looking to compete at a high level and experience the most advance gameplay mechanic, Tekken 7 just did it, no other fighting game can beat it right now. Not a Tekken fan before but right now hands down, they did so well on the gameplay.
@1Diddums5 жыл бұрын
Been saying it for awhile, but it's not a new discussion for most players. It's a strong Tekken, but it's not a good game. Mechanically speaking it's the strongest it's ever been. Revenge options (RA and RD); improved wakeup options; Rage actually in a good/decent balanced spot; Juggling with S! > B! because of accessibility, aesthetics and balance; Zoom-ins and slo-downs for key battle moments; clever approach to taking one difficulty layer off the throw game; relatively thoughtful approach to punishment and how unsafe some moves should be. (notable pushback moves that shouldn't pushback safely) etc.. Game falls flat from the perspective of the offline player. Whether that's due to no internet, or no interest in online - there is NOTHING for this player. It's safe to say that the majority of current players, spend ATLEAST 85% of their time in online modes, and you can spread the rest of that amungst practice mode, customization, Story, Gallery etc All that said however, it is still my longest played Tekken. Because a mechanically strong game, with top-tier netcode: *is the present.* That's what matters these days. It's just a shame it's falling behind in a couple other areas, to warrant these complaints. They're completely valid. All I personally want to see, is a handful of neglected souls return with this coming season. Chuck 1 final guest in (Kiryu. Even though I haven't played Yakuza. He's a solid pick) and possibly a new line of old stages from across the decades, polished and tweaked for T7. I'd love to see modern takes on some Tekken 2 stages. I can gloss over the weak story and endings, in favour of replayability. There's a good couple of characters I actually care about, that aren't in this game currently. I'm still playing the game, and I'm still enjoying it. Give me Bruce & Kunimitsu, my playtime will extend. Give me anyone else: Wang, Ganryu, Baek, Zafina - and my playtime will extend further. I want to see what they will do with ANY of these characters, in the new system. Visually, mechanically.

Also the fact guest characters play outside of T7 rules like Akuma is a mistake and turn off. Even the intro movie for Tekken 7 was bollocks. In terms of playable content, as you said: "What can you do in the game". Tekken 7 is really bare bones and I think I know the reason. The game is just a framework. Like a reboot for the series. The biggest reason for the lack of content in Tekken 7 is most likely the game engine switch. Going from their own in-house engine to Unreal Engine during Tekken 7's development. It will take a while for the studio as a whole to adjust to a new tool and how everything works from the ground up. Can't imagine the amount of restructuring they had to do to even get the game wholly ported from one engine to another. Creating new content for a new game engine with all scripts and base tools working vastly differently from what the studio has gotten used to is no easy task. It will take time. It's quite tough to work on additional game modes and other gameplay related content post release, considering most of their revenue most likely comes from the release version of the game and not from the DLC (I don't have the numbers on me, so this is completely speculation). They probably just can't justify the work on them with the Season Passes alone, without making them way over priced. They even tried adding a new game mode with Bowling and that was a huge flop, convincing the financial side of the studio to do more is probably near impossible at this point. We'll probably see a lot of new and returning content for Tekken 8 in terms of game modes - and such - now that the studio has had their first big project with the Unreal Engine, with the groundwork for future games laid out. I really hope that I'm wrong on the success of DLC. Personally, I'd love to see Tekken 7 vastly expanded through DLC. I'd happily pay a whole new game's worth for all the missing content. Maybe a second chapter of the story, old school Arcade story for each character, Tekken Force, Survival, hidden unlock-able characters, proper training mode with daily challenges, more advanced AI opponents, frame data and match-up practice tools etc. Let's just hope the next Tekken game isn't a Epic Store exclusive, considering Epic gives publishers better deals who use their engine (Unreal). (For some background: Studied computer science at my local university. Got experience with Unity Game Engine and Creation Engine. Currently working on my portfolio to apply for game designer positions)

I think people are missing the point low key after reading comments or at least how I interpret the video about what he was saying. Hands down, T7 gameplay looks and is better, however, when it comes to the overall game, ttt2 takes the cake. I can tell that in T7, they definitely put more of their resources into the gameplay more than anything else. But as an overall game I honestly feel like they cut many corners. Quiet as it's kept, the game, when released, felt unfinished by how lacking it was compared to previous installments. I think developers need to take a look at combining the aspects of the last 4 installments into T8. I also think that this kind of debate is coming from a perspective where fighting games aren't just about fighting, and a game you play with your friends. I feel like its more about longevity and how much you can get out if the game especially content wise. These past 2 installments, because I actually love the overall game of t6 more than tag2 and t7, have been eh, when it comes to longevity on a non competitive level. I still would put t6 in and play scenario campaign mode or pop SC3 and play that bad ass RPG mode. When t8 comes in, there's nothing to really go back to playing when it comes to tag2 or t7. If people still played tag2 and the internet was better in tag2, I would actually play that game more than t7, still customizing and still figuring out different character pairs...

I do like tekken 7 but limited on customization there network bad at least on ps4 it shows wins and no loses don't like that what happen to the replay I love tekken but these things really grind my gears

I believe that they should not put so much paid content because it would divide the community. I think if we play online we should play on the same stages and they know it because as you see the new stages were added for free, they weren't linked to the character's DLC. And I agrre with that it is not fun playing offline it was much better tekken 6 campaign it was a tekken with minions, 1 stage per char, guns and with some rol (customization items had freeze, electric stun fire damage).

Only good thing in tekken 7 was the tournament mode fell in love with that and felt like it was more competition TTG2 all the way tekken 8 need tekken 6 character customization with tekken ttg play style the rage artr and special moves need to go
@7dogguy5 жыл бұрын
Tekken 7 is a really good game but I feel like they dumb down the gameplay instead of having to make good blocking decisions you can just press super armor moves or you can just do a rage art that has super armor on it it's just really dumb and I'm not even a bad player I'm ranked as a revered ruler and do decent at locals. I just think it's more rewarding to learn how to block strings and punish them or just out space strings that in itself is good enough defense the other stuff is just gimmicks. As for new move additions and balancing to characters I think those are way better then Tekken Tag 2 but I really don't think they needed to Nerf Oki that much you should be able to trap people on the ground better but I like the new button layout for getting up in Tekken 7 such as X and O being spring jump etc.

I agree with everything your saying kingjae apart from the reply system as you can just clip your match after if you want too like I do on my ps4 and then I trim it and edit it in share factory 😊 but yeah good video man.👊

TTT2 online was just awful. You didn't get to choose your side,as a Kaz main I couldn't find a decent team character so I played solo and got bodied most of the time,and you also have to know a shitload of matchup,like for 70+ characters. Glad it is never coming back

Going down a checklist Tag 2 might have more positives than 7. However I think just the fact that 7 has better gameplay and is more fun to watch, by itself makes it a lot better than Tag 2. That being said the story battle stuff is HORRENDOUS in 7. Incredibly disappointing. Still I don’t love T7 any less coz of it.

Idc which is more balanced, tekken 7 is boring as shit. Even after I bough the dlc, the longest I play it for is like a week Tekken 6 and TTT2 have more shit that spice things up when you're bored of the standard boring 1v1 fight. Hopefully TXSF comes out and is more fun

1892 characters, thousands of moves, 10 customizable objects for each character, 3 modes, various clones of the same stage with forgettable music. I feel that Tekken 7 is the worst in the series in terms of arenas and music, and this is not a small thing. I also believe that the gameplay is one of the most balanced in the series but, as TMM says, the characters are simply too many. Like Tekken, 7 is fantastic but as a game, much less.

Yeah, Tekken 7 offline is trash, and some beloved characters missing. With time, with DLC Tekken 7 may become the best Tekken game overall.
