Yup that is definitely true, a lot of people thinks Alisa is mostly a defensive/turtle character but in most matchups generally speaking from my experience you can actually play her really aggresivly. In some matchups especially vs Katarina, Bob, Dragunov, Nina, Claudio, Negan and Geese i find my self playing a bit more defensive than usual but all in all she can be played as a highly offensive character

Today in Tekken 7 most people are playing way more defensive compared to back then when i recorded this video. In Tekken 8 with the new "Heat" system it's gonna be wild! :)

Absolutely insane the way you use that backflip-into-head-launch move. So many times with Alisa you're flying off the map and putting yourself in crazy places behind the opponent; I had never thought to just stand there and do a backflip lol. Your parries (taunts?) are very on point too, I notice you tend to place them right at the end of your strings to punish the incoming jabs. Probably better than trying to make a hard read in a Mexican standoff, like I've been trying lately. Very informative and entertaining matches.

Fictionarious Thanks for the good words man, really appreciate it. That backflip-into-head-launch, the (Docking Bay) is a great tool to use in many situations. At walls in pressure situations, it can be extremly risky but if you time it correctly and got a good read on your opponent it can be worth it, also in (back turned) situations it’s a really great move. Alisa’s B+1+3 parry is underrated i think, this parry is great to use when you pressure the opponent and as soon as you are in ‘’minus frames’’ (at least that’s what the opponent thinks;) or both are in neutral right at the end of the pressure, most people will hit 1 or 1,2 out of desperation. I tend to overuse it a bit though and it might backfire on me if i use it to often or in situations where it would be safer to just land some pokes instead to go for the win. All i can do now is olny to counter mid hit with "disconnet head" (lol don't know how it calls in game) and counter low leg hit with down+forward. What you can advice about "go up" after enemy combo when you down and how you stand will determine match? 2) I know Alisa have a really good side and back step dodge, but in what situations and versus who (chars) it better or not to do? 3) Rage Art - usefull hit or i shouldn't get used to it? I'm not good at english, and use translator to some questions, so ask as you understand. Now i got "Mentor" with 50 wins on Alisa. Thanks a lot! Any advice will help.

hectep 1: Use Alisa’s highparry b+1+3 (counter) mostly when you are in minus frames up close up in their face when you pressure the opponent and you expect high attack. 2: Some characters have really good tracking moves, like Jin, Kazumi, Anna, Leroy, Steve etc so be carefull when ss certent characters. Alisa’s (Dodge) db1 can be used effective against every character in the game. 3: Alisa’s Rage art is ok, use it from time to time but don’t overdo it, her Ragedrive is better generally speaking but these moves are situational so you really have to pay attention to your own healthbar and your opponents healthbar and choose wisely when to use them. Rageart is often more risky than ragedrive. Nice man, Congrats with Mentor rank, keep it up!! 💪🏻💪🏻

You should pick it up again friend, there is a new update coming out on Tekken 7 in two days with new mechanics added. And a Tekken Netflix series airing on the 18th in three days which is great for the Tekken franchise as this will probably help make Tekken grow even larger. Fighting games has really started to pick up again the recent years, they are now even more popular than they were back in the 90's when they were huge! Might as well jump back in now and start preparing for Tekken 8. With SF6 coming out soon, most likely first half of next year then Tekken 8 probably in second half of next year. I get addicted to videos sometimes my self 😄 Been watching this video right here couple times now as well, i’m looking for flaws so i can improve my gameplay. Allready labbed some of the characters and the moves they where throwing at me in these matches. For instance that Marduk player was using a lot of 1,2,3,1+2 and i have seen many other Marduk players use it, and i found out that, that last 1+2 headbutt is actully launch punishable by hopkick if you just duck and hopkick it. You might know this allready and probably some others watching but oh well, i’m just putting it out there. You can see the Marduk combo at 28:53 👍🏻

Hey man I love your Alisa! I'm a Genbu trash tier Alisa rn (highest rank was Seiryu), and I'm learning a lot of things from these videos. My problem is I rely on gimmicks too much and don't have all the fundamentals down yet (poking, block punishment, sidestep). I like some of your gimmicks and aggresive tools for online, even though you do not do classic Alisa poking/turtling. The aggro style really flourishes when you play Alisa. P.S. I think you should totally change your KZbin username to SCORPIONFURY or something. It is really hard to find your videos online even if you search for them, and your current username is hard to remember/too long to type everytime I want to see these videos.

What kind of moves are you using that you see as gimmicky? I love using all Alisa’s moves even the crappy ones that are super minus on block 😄 I know moves like that wont work against for instance Knee himself My username here on KZbin was SCORPIONFURY before but changed it just for the heck of it and thought it sounded cool. I did search for you with "scorpionfury Alisa" and I had to scroll down quite a bit to find what I was liking for, hence the name change suggestion (but if you like your current name, who am I to judge). Some of Alisa gimmicks I use too much are d+3; b+3+4,3+4; too much chainsaw spam (people really don't know how to defend against it, even in high ranks sometimes, so it's hard not to abuse it); the chainsaw power crush (d/f+1+2) and so on. I just need to focus on not pressing so many buttons, keeping calm and playing a more reactive style to my opponent, block punishment, sidestepping and the fundamentals. That's a whole lot of things, but hopefully it works out for me. Oh, and I'd love to learn the parry you use, it feels really cool to pull off. Btw, I have around 80 hrs and 400 wins. I'm not feeling too great about that, thought I should be better with that many matches, but it is what it is.

Anyways, Yeah that d3 can be dangerous to use too much as it is launch punishable, but if you use them in the right situations it’s a great move, it comes out so fast that most people are not able to react, i use it a lot my self but when the opponent start blokking and punishing it i just switch up my gameplay. b+3+4,3+4 is a really bad habbit, i used to use it a lot at the beginning when i started playing Alisa on Tekken 6, BUT b+3+4 is a great launcher for whiff punishement and when you predict lows. Btw you can do some serious dmg from that b+3+4,3+4 if you line it up and hit only with the second 3+4 👍🏻😄 Combos like that with Alisa are sick 😎 it’s hard to pull off, and you only got that one chance vs even descent opponents + it’s risky as fuck but the reward is super high

This combo is a 86 dmg combo on open stage, one of my favorite combos i invented my self :) That’s probably why you can’t Google it because few people know about it or even use it because tbh it’s a really unsafe move but really awesome to nail it in a match 👍🏻😁

The inputs are (while laying on the back) hold F and just keep tapping 1+2. The forward roll is an universal move in Tekken which can be done with all characters as long as your back is on the ground. Some characters such as Paul, Marduk, Josie i think and a few others will stun the opponent if the opponents block the dive roll giving them a "free" combo afterwards, most characters, if not all will be in + frames if the opponent blocks it. With Alisa, i mix up her (wake ups) a lot since she has more options to (wake up) compared to all other characters in Tekken. When dive rolling forward, the timing can be important, some times it's better to wait a second before doing it so you won't get caught by the opponents (pickup move) Pickup moves such as Alisa's ws123 or f+2. Often when waiting a little bit before you start rolling, the opponents won't expect it and won't be ready to use their pickup moves. Hope this helps, have a nice day

Terry After the PowerCrush B,F,2 i’m doing her high parry move B+1+3 or you can use B+2+4, both inputs are the exact same high parry. Then after that i do (while running 4) into the slidetackle. After that while still on the ground facing up, i hit 1+2~3+4 as an escape and to sort of break the normal dynamic in these situations. Next time i will do a slidetackle again against same opponent i could for instance switch it up from that grounded (face up) position and do a quickroll thowards the opponent instead into WS,4 etc.. or just a WS,3 to go for a CH launcher from the ground BT (face up) Alisa has some pretty descent mixup options from the ground and from her (Back Turned) positions. Important to not repeat the same exact patterns over and over, small changes makes huge differences. Hope this was of any help. Keep it up friend

Michael Cheung When i’m using b3+4 i use it mostly as a whiff punisher or when i predict incoming lows as it crushes lows + the range of this move is super good. As soon as my opponents starts to block punish it and i feel i lose too much health because of it i stop using it right away and use other moves instead

Fadi Etika DB+1+2, i allways use this on knockdowns from moves like F+3+4, 2. If the opponents fail to hold back to quickroll out of it, DB+1+2 is a really good option and probably the safest and most consistant followup (in most cases)

Escrow Large 2:07 on wallsplat i usually use 1,2 ~ 1+2 as combo ender. It’s one of her absolute best combo enders on wallsplat. I used the chainsaws in this case after 1,2 because the opponent was so low on the wall

Xavier Weekes-Rivera Yeah sure brotha, the notation from the move (Cute But Deadly) is (while rising) hold 1+2 then you need to step forward really fast into crouch position and then (while rising) 1,2,3~d+4,1+2, d+3 Next from the move (Meteor Kick) db+1,3, (run) wr1,2,3/1,(step forward) d+4,1+2 Last combo is not a natural combo but some people might fall for it;) From the move (Daisy Chain) db,2,2. this move gives the opponent a little stun (some people call it the nosebleed punch) and if they don’t know how to get out of it you can follow up with the move (Double Override to Boot) b,4,4~3+4 into 1,2,1,2~3+4

beercake390 Thank you. To cancel parrys like that and do a ‘chicken’ works against most characters who has normal mid parrys. You just (buffer) ffff and either 1 or 2 depending on which of these inputs that will ‘’hit’’ the parry. To Ki charge with chainsaws, hold down 3+4 then hit 1+2

Kest Yes, i use WS 1,2,3 mostly in combos. Or i use WS 1,2 as punish for certain low attacks, other than that, the combo is not good to use from neutral as opponents may launch punish you by ducking the 2nd hit and hopkick you into a full combo

G Burton Thanks. My best tips is to try to stay in pluss frames as much as you can but don’t be afraid to mix it up with high risk high reward moves from time to time. Work on your combos. When on wallsplat you should go for 1,2~f1+2 combo ender most of the time, (unless you use b+4,4 as combo extender. On bounce close to the wall use chainsaws ff 1+2 and work on DES mixup for wall pressure. Alisa has the best movement in the game, use it to your advantage and keep moving and sidestepping/sidewalking, use BOT mixups and electric sidesteps, if you are cornered at the walls use Alisa’s walljump and you will be out of there in no time. Last but not least, this is the hardest part, I’m struggeling with this as well, work on your block punishers and study the characters you are having the hardest time against, at higher level play, if you fail to block punish with the correct block punisher, you are pretty much giving away life lead to the opponent

Ridhwan Assegaff That is a ‘lowcancel’ It’s a universal tekken move all characters has. The input is D+F timed correctly against mostly the fastest lows and also medium fast lows, the heavy damage lows like Hellsweeps and snakeedges should allways be block punished instead to get more combo damage than from lowcancel combos

Ridhwan Assegaff Np bro. I’m on PlayStation as well. One of the absolute best combos from lowcancel is the one i did in the vid, allways go straight into crouch after the lowcancel then ws 1,2,3 combos. For instance ws 1,2,3~d+4,1+2~d+3,1 The input for lowcancel is Down+Forward on the d-pad

Good luck on learning Alisa, she is a fun character to play and she can be a great character even at high level play if you really dive into the depths of her gameplay. This character is a specialist character in my opinion, she might look easy on the surface and be easy to get into and kick ass early on but in the end at high level play she lacks combo damage and that’s why you really need to put time into this character to make her work. I still got a far way to go myself to truly master this character

Her key moves the way i’m playing her are, df+1 / db+3 / FC~df+1+2 / 1,2 / 1,2,1 / f+2 / df+4. b+1 / Running 2 / Running 3,4 / d+3,1 / d+3,4 / both her PowerCrush moves which are bf+2 and df+1+2 / sidestep/sidewalk into u+4,4 to get the side combo b+2,4 (forward buffer ) f+4,1,4 / Keymoves in Destructive mode, DES f+1+2 / DES f+1 / DES d+1 / DES electric sidestep 1 / DES 2 into the combo f,f 3,4,3~d+3,1 / DES b+2,1 / when you have them in the corner in DES mode, mix up with d+2 and f+1+2 and also d+1 and DES 2 to get the wallsplat combos. Her punishers are WS4 and WS1,2. Alisa’s 10 frame punisher 1,1~1+2 is one of the best in the game because you can go directly into her DES mode. Also she got two 12 frame punishers, 2,4 and 2,3 the last one she can also go into DES mode. Her 14 frame punish is f+3,2 and with this punish you can get a full combo. 15 frame is her hopkick 4,4 into WS~1,2,3~d+4,1+2~d+3,1 Her 16 frame punish to punish slowlows is WS,2 into f+3+4~3~WS1,2~b+2,4~d+3,1 Probably a lot more but these are what’s on the top of my mind. Ellis Britford I got a pretty good grip on Jin and Kazuya. Against both of these characters i play very offensive usually, to not let them dictate the game, don’t let them get any breathingroom, if you do they will pressure with a lot of 50/50 mixups and oki gameplay. Against Josie and Kazumi i try to play more defensive and more poke oriented, both these characters got some dangerous counterhits that you need to avoid at all costs. Next time you play against these characters you should record the matches and practice blockpunish vs the moves/strings you fall for the most

Johnrussel Chopitea I do this from time to time when i get a good read on the opponents. If it’s the first time i face someone i usually use a lot of high dmg unsafe moves just to test them and just to have fun :) The coolest looking combos are usually the high risk, high reward moves like Alisa’s ub+3+4,1+2 into an extended combo. If they don’t fall for it and i notice they punish all that stuff i change my gameplan and try to play more safe and poke oriented playstyle with some rapid strikes here and there to stair things up. These days im working on my block punish because defense is probably my weakest side of tekken, I’m more of an offensive tekken player. Alisa is for players who just brute force matches to win i don't like characters like that i like a challenge when im using a character

I can see your point but at high ranks ‘’brute forcing’’ matches to win with Alisa is not possible, you have to win by using a lot of mindgames and setups, having good movement, good sidesteps, good poking abilities, good defense, good combos and overall just good character/framedata knowledge about all the characters in the game. At high level it is really challenging and demanding to use Alisa vs a lot of characters in Tekken 7 as Alisa has some of the weakest combo damage/wallcarry in the whole game so she has to work super hard to collect those dmg points before the timer runs out. A lot of characters in T7 can hit you with one single relatively safe 12 frame CH launch or a df2 launch and ‘’allways’’ carry you into the walls from any location of the stage, this is something Alisa can not do
