Muscle memory is in your spine, not your brain. This is why a chicken can run around with its head cut off. If you try wave dashing full speed without building up to it, you will make mistakes. If you keep making those mistakes, you will create muscle memory of those mistakes, and you will always make them. It's hard to unlearn muscle memory. It's very important to start off slow and build up to full speed. Never force it.

Awesome and very true, I have been playing wavedash characters only for a few years now and practicing slow and methodical crouch dashes always makes my wavedash faster.

Great tutorial. Would you be kind enough to suggest which pad to use? DS4 buttons becomes spongy after a while of practicing electrics/wavedash. And then i strat missing inputs. Basically, in your experience, what controller is the most consistent throughout its lifetime?

I use a DS4 pad, but it can breakly fairly quickly. I've heard that Hori Fighting Commander Controllers hold on for a long time, but unfortunately they stopped producing them. I've only tried those 2 pads. What I would recommend is not buying brand new DS4 pads all the time, it can get very expensive. Try ordering Dpad rubbers on eBay and replacing them with the old spongy ones in your pad. You can also look for used pads in your area from people who mainly play shooters. Since they barely use their dpad, it will be working perfectly for Tekken and itll be way cheaper than a new one from shops!

Get a DS5 aka DualSense. I switched from DS4 and the pad is built way better in my opinion, worth a try

@@hkjr1341 To be honest, that's what i've been doing. But it goes bad so quickly, i wondered if i'm maybe just doing my inputs too hard(i even hurt my wrist one day during a long set, the pain still comes and goes at times). Hearing a pro use DS4 and having the same problem, i'm kind of relieved. That, it's natural for the controllers to go bad with motions like wavedash/electrics. And it's better breaking a controller than your wrist trying to do those whiff punishes.

Diversity in educational content from a different people is always welcome, and quite honestly is never enough, even after so many years.
