Okay. Let me get this straight: Heihachi was saved by some monk before getting splashed on a lava, then he has amnesia, then he went through some training with the “Tekken Monks”, then he endured on some trial, then he destroyed that giant meteor after the space battle between Jin and Kazuya, then Heihachi regained his memories, became evil once again, killed the Tekken Monks, defeated Yoshimitsu, Eddy, and Lidia, and finally, Heihachi began his path to his reign of terror once more, in hopes to bring the Mishima Zaibatsu back to its knees?! …This whole story is making my head hurt. I give up.

I would've preferred a resurrection arc instead, but this is still understandable due to the fact that us the viewers never saw Heihachi hit the lava, we are only led to believe that Kazuya witnessed the whole thing since the camera panned to him in the final moments. Who knows, Kazuya could've turned away the moment that monk saved Heihachi. Only time will tell.

I think the reason ppl are upset, at least for me personally, is that I'm all good with Heihachi being evil and never having been good but it makes the entire story of his return in T8 pointless through and through. They could've straight up made him wake up on demon time, but they made all the events that were posed as character growth all just so he could get a technique he'd never have learned otherwise. Yes, he has the ultimate Mishima technique now but we can all definitively say him achieving it was one of the biggest asspulls in all of fiction. Why even invest time into the story if its literally gonna be the same thing again?

Facts! I would have even loved an antihero neutral Heihachi, after all the Tekken Monks literally spoke about the importance of balance. He spent time as a pure-hearted man, conquered his inner darkness, and then faces his old memories which could make him balanced. Similar to how Akuma isn't a main antagonist, Heihachi could be a kinder but still brutal warrior seeking a new ultimate style that could surpass both the Devil and Angel. Then, seek out all dem damn kids to pass on said style. That's what I woulda done

So in the episode menu we learn more about who Reina is. Apparently, she is the last daughter of the Hachijou clan (the same clan Kazumi was a part of), Heihachi after EWGF every Hachijou member for whatever reason, spared "a baby daughter" (most likely Reina) and trained her in secret before confronting Kazuya. So, in part she's a step sibling of Kazuya and Jin but her last name was Hachijou. Sadly, Heihachi didn't get busy with another random woman during his dementia.

Yes, your thinking of Heihachi's 2nd stonehead throw which was FF1+4. He had it for awhile and if its used against any Male character, if you press/mash 1 you can headbutt him back, but Heihachi can do the same. It was called headbutt carnival. Edit: Despite it being more of a funny thing, it did actually give Heihachi a legit throw mixup because you don't know if he was going to do FF1+2 stonehead or FF1+4 version. The only indication visually was that one of the throws changed the camera, the other did not. This was made even funnier from T6 onwards where he got the DF2+3 headbutt throw as well, 3 headbutt throws! But that one wasn't cheesable since you could see the hand difference. Anna had a similar thing with one of her slaps, used against any Female character, they could slap her back. Nerd comment over :P

Guilty Gears story can be complex but you tell there is thought put into it if you look deeply enough. The characters grow and change throughout their own journeys, and it feels earned. Tekken at this point is just making stuff up and not progressing the characters in any sensible way. Seriously, I couldn't tell who was the main character in this story. Lidia, Eddy, and Yoshimitsu didn't do anything of importance at all, so why were they even there?

@@loneblade9447 You're right. I gotta say that Guilty Gear's storyline is a lot more coherent than the mess that is Tekken. Most, if not all characters have actual personalities instead of just being a stoic edgelord's power fantasy and objectified eye candy waifu. Not to mention that they also got some satisfying or interesting conclusions in Strive, such as Sol and Jack-O settling down together, Faust relapsing to his nightmarish appearance but still retaining his kindness and altruism, Axl reuniting with his GF (who is I-No's alternate version), Happy Chaos teasing a return in the future, Testament just chilling and doing their 20+ hobbies, Baiken giving up on revenge and adopting Delilah, Bridget finally coming out as a trans woman, and Elphelt establishing a heavy metal band with her as its vocalist. Of course, I still have some issues with the game's story, such as some characters who still lacks screentime and/or development (Kum Haehyun, Jam, Answer, May, and Johnny) and those who still yet to have a conclusion to their fate (Venom). But other than those things, it's pretty much good. You know, I'd rather see Asuka and Lili developing romantic feelings for each other and Kuma burying the hatchet with Paul and growing out of Heihachi's shadow as alternative storylines instead of the same old Mishima family feud bullcrap.

Because of this the other roster of characters have had their development stifled. Nina is still the same bland cold professional assassin with no layers, Asuka's Kazama heritage doesn't mean anything, and Hwoarang is still the hotheaded punk that won't get over the fact that he lost to a draw with Jin in street fight.

i guarantee this was an ass pull due to low sales and people dropping the game. i bet reitsu was going to be a new character and once tekken 8 started dropping players left and right they scrapped that idea and through heihachi together to try to boost sales. it’s complete dribble. harada and murray need to go and the soul calibur 6 team which that game was horrible a rock paper scissors type game made tekken 8 and it shows. they don’t know what they are doing the code is still trash, i haven’t clicked on the shop, customizations battle pass or the trash lobby once. it’s all there to sell shit. they spent more time on kazuyas trash sunglasses ad than this game

ALRIGHT CHAT here’s what ima say that will make sense but there will be some empty explanations that you guys can fill with your own. We saw heihachi fall in the volcano in TEKKEN 7 yes. As shown in the beginning the monk Seiryu (I think that’s his name) rings a bell which probably is supposed to signify what we SAW wasn’t actually real. And that it was used as an after image to make us THINK Heihachi died officially. After, Kazuya has his one liner while watching his own dad “die” from his hands and then gets interrupted by Akuma and then from there we end up here. If there’s still stuff that needs explaining put your ideas below and we can solve this easy together🙌

idk man i love tekken and all, always have since tekken 3 but heihachi living is pretty hard to believe lol dont tell me that the whole story up until now was for nothing, and that kazuya being the most evil mf, will end up teaming up with jin to fight heihachi and reina or something tekken 8 story was decent, and it feels a little ruined with heihachis story lol kazuya is arguably more evil than heihachi, so it wouldnt make much sense for jin and kazuya to team up because of all the bad blood between them, but i feel they will

Honestly, Heihachi could have just waken up mid flight into the vulcano or just straight up climb out of it while Kazuya was fighting Akuma and everybody would have belived it because he is Heihachi after all. There is no reason for all of this spiritual stuff because he is a monster and coukd have survived by himself. So while i am happy that he is back, the way he did is flawed.
