Bro, I honestly love this ranked series because it feels like we're both on the same journey as new Tekken players. Regarding mentality, I think one thing us newbies should really focus on and celebrate is the small victories. By that, I mean, be proud when you block a low, or perform a whiff punish, or break a throw, or when you break a bad habit. The other day, I was also on the brink of demotion from Garyu, but instead of being anxious, I genuinely told myself I wanted the demotion because I deserved a lower rank. I also told myself that I wouldn't use the crutch moves that I relied on to beat other newbies. I loaded up into ranked, won like 4/5 matches, and secured my spot in Garyu for now. And, honestly, I don't care if i demote now. Whatever happens, happens for the better. Also, remember, bro, when a Drag, or Jin, or Law player beats your Kazuya, they are the favourites, so mathematically, you were at a disadvantage. Lastly, take breaks from ranked and play quick match. It helps so much because you can really enjoy Tekken and not stress about it. Sorry for the essay. But keep going, bro. I love this video series 😊!

iirc when you are queued up against someone thats a higher rank than you in Tekken 8, you gain more points than you normally do! im also glad that i was recommended by your channel, looking forward to seeing you improve and progress more in this game as a Tekken newbie myself! :)

Just hit tekken king with kazuya yesterday for the first time ever I gotta say that your way of thinking is super nice to see! You're gonna rank up in no time. Wouldn't be surprised if you manage to pass my rank in a couple months. One thing I want to see from you is for you to abuse kazuya's frame traps especially in the rank you're at right now. F4, db4, ss1+2, and cd1+2 are kazuya's best friends. Follow up any of those attacks with a df2 and cook up all your opponents and you'll hit purple in no time!

Thank you for the valuable pro tips! I really appreciate and I will take them into account and abuse kazuya’s frame traps 😤 I hope you reach the rank you want in the future :)

@YamatoZA6 ай бұрын
I’ll take that note down. The mash is too strong in me 😭 also really appreciate the advice and tips!
@Mackievellian6 ай бұрын
Mashing maybe came off too strong, I noticed you were getting slapped by strings near the wall etc. Best advice I got early on was learn the frames for your character. I.e. learn the basic frame traps, like db4 stature kick into df2 etc, see how they react and adjust as you go. Start stepping now! Even if you don't know when, just to get the fear of it out of you and you'll start getting some good timing. Always assume at lower levels that they're gonna mash, out of minus or whatever, from a forced crouch position. You'll get a good few ranks just from these tips :)

That fact that you won a set against him is so huge. You’re the goat and probably incredibly cracked at tekken!😭🤝

First time i played online i got destroyed by a Hwoarang masher. I downloaded his ghost and it made me learn the matchup by force (i was losing to his ghost as well 😅) Now that ghost is my personal btch. And improved my game inmensely. I downloaded as well characters used by popular streamers and pro players. That helped me get better

IMO, at your rank it's much better for you watch your replays and took suggestions from the replay system and applying those suggestions rather than watching pros because at your rank knowledge and having the ability to punish unsafe moves reliably means you are are already better than most people at your ranks because most people at your level is just spamming stupid moves like Law's low sweeping moves or junkyard in this video are very punishable and if you punish them 50 percent of the time, you will win. Sure, watching pros could help but those pros are playing a very different game than you. Trying to emulate them is like playing tiki taka in Sunday league. You and the opponent don't have the skill to do what those pros can do so stick with learning and doing things at your level.
