To the best of my understanding, the reason we call it flash is because of legacy players. Apparently in like Tekken 4 they changed the name of the move from Yoshimitsu Flash to Soul Stealer, don’t quote me on that though since I wasn’t around at the time. Oh and in Tekken 4 (not sure about onward titles) he could actually steal moves from other characters with it! Pretty neat move.

Yeah, in Tekken 4 Yoshi could steal some moves with the Flash/Soul Stealer. If you stole a move successfully, his sword would become red, and then you could use that move once.

One thing I absolutely loved about Yoshi was that his move-set was *extremely similar* between Soul Calibur and Tekken. If you can play him on one, you can probably play him on the other. It was a really novel concept to have the same fighting game character appear in two different series, and have his move-set basically be the same. I wish they'd release more Soul Calibur; I miss Cervantes, and Taki - my beloved.

Haven't played Tekken myself since Tekken 3, the only one I played. Tried to play Yosh, couldn't get used to him. I was young and stupid, too good for me to grasp. But just based on how he was then, I knew I was in for some weird stuff this video... But I did not expect him to just be casually flying around by twirling his sword. That is so damn silly and hilarious. Also Yoshimitzu with a folding chair randomly. I don't even know what to say, that's just a Godsend of extremely weird and comedic combinations.
