So she's a mix between Mishima-ryu Karate and Taido, much like Jin which now has a mix of Mishima-ryu in his standard Kyokushin.

Not very much , in T4 Jin still has some Mishima moves until T6 become own styled kyokushin karate . Also DJ in T5 has triple spinning kick like Mishima does but after T6 and T7 removed even 10 hit combos and guts punch too

I am a member of the only official Taido school in America, and I am a huge fan of Nakano sensei's display of speed and agility, and it is great news to hear that he himself worked directly with the developers of Tekken to finally bring Taido into the spotlight, I know Nakano sensei has been working to do that as well.

This fighting style is so nimble mixture of a lot of things to Judo, traditional Karate, to even a little bit of Capoeira it’s so cool. This by far has to be one of the coolest characters to be ever made in the Tekken Franchise.

Having practiced Capoeira for years I always thought that it doesn't work in Tekken. This is so much better. The same strong kicks are straight forward and powerful. Works so much better when building a fighting game

From what I read the Idea of Taido was to make it more 3 dimensional than what most martial arts are so the Man who created it included a lot of roles and Jump. Also the idea is to just move from one move to the other and keep the momentum

What I always wonder with any martial art that incorporates a lot of spinning and jumping is how practical it'd be in a fight. Taido looks impressive and, honestly, super fun, but if I went into an actual fight where I havd to defend my health and safety, would I really want to turn my back on my opponent? Do I really want to relinquish all control over my body's trajectory the moment my feet leave the ground? Is the additional force of impact worth, or even needed, and is the use of energy efficient? Anyway, I always love it when actually used martial arts are incorporated into Tekken!

Do you really need to think about R/Martial Arts or MMA fanboy thoughts on a Martial Arts video much less a Tekken one. Sure, if you're always out looking for a fight it won't work but that defeats the purpose of Martial Arts and no, Combat Sports don't count because they do not reflect real life fighting. Best thing you should do is not to think how much a style will help you win a street fight or how practical will it be and more on how to disarm or intimidate someone first then run away and fight dirty once it's the last resort. No amount of MMA/Boxing sparring will help you in a real street fight.

In all likelihood absolutely not, but I don't think most martial arts could actually guarantee your health and safety. In all likelihood if you are ever unforunate enough to be in such a situation all you'd have is your bare instinct and quick thinking. The important thing to consider about disciplines like Taido, Karate, Judo or even MMA are that they are, in varying degrees, sport first, self defense 2nd. If you want to defend yourself truly in the world, a conceal and cary gun, pepper spray and a knife would likely do you 100x more good than any single martial art (or even a combination). This is especially true for Taido, which is a sport first and foremost. It has sanctioned competitions and rules.

@ridleyroid9060 it did have some practical irl by situation you have, no matter martial arts yknow it serve as strength to defend oneself. ofc using knife or other thing to defend definitely better but the opponent not so dumb when they attacking you(especially taken by suprise attack). also by knowing martial arts you can move efficiently than someone didnt know at all. in due respect, i said this since it seems you underestimate martial art by comparing with use of weapon.

To concede, someone who practices martial arts actively will definitely have more awareness and advantage over someone who doesnt. Especially if they practice multiple disciplines and invest time to improve in all of them. What I am mostly referring to is if you go into a Taido dojo, practice for like 6 months and ONLY practice Taido, in that case you really wont be that much more protected. Now that is just taido, it may be different for muay thai, or boxing, as their techniques are, at least in my experience, intuitive enough to how the human body works naturally to pick up on. Let's be real if you are an average person who only wants to learn a martial art for self defense, chances are you'll pick one, go to practice every evening 2-3 times a week for maybe 6 months to a year at best. But even then, being caught in a situation where your life is at risk, relying strictly on any martial art which most average people (who do it to learn self defense) have not practiced as extensively is imho worse than having weapons with you. Ofc. Even then shit can turn sideways and your safety is never a guarantee.

well, taekwondo is a martial art based on karate actually, but different values. Karate has much more statical stances and techniques, while Taekwondo is much more fluid, and using things like action and reaction and other Physics
