Tekki (kiba/shiko dachi application)

🇬🇧 Tekki bunkai.
Schools of the Itosu lineage (Mabuni, Chibana to name a few) use the stance of uchi hachiji-dachi, with the toes of the feet pointing inward: it is known that this particular feature comes from modifications Itosu himself made to the kata. Other lineages, however, use a stance more similar to shiko-dachi, that is, with the toes facing outward (see, for example, Funakoshi in the first few frames of the video). The use of shiko-dachi also appears in the Tomari Naihanchi, as well as in other lineages that were not influenced by Itosu (think, for example, of the Naihanchi of the Bushi Tachimura, coeval with the more famous Bushi Matsumura). But regardless of the stance adopted, it is clear that it has a primary functional role in relation to the fighting style conveyed by the Tekki/Naihanchi kata: compact, close-quarter, efficient and highly effective.

Le scuole di lignaggio Itosu (Mabuni, Chibana per citarne alcune) usano la posizione di uchi hachiji-dachi, con le punte dei piedi rivolte verso l'interno: è noto che questa particolare caratteristica deriva dalle modifiche che Itosu stesso apportò al kata. Altri lignaggi usano invece una posizione più simile allo shiko-dachi, cioè con le punte dei piedi rivolte verso l'esterno (si veda ad esempio Funakoshi nei primi fotogrammi del video). L'uso dello shiko-dachi compare anche nel Tomari Naihanchi, così come in altri lignaggi che non sono stati influenzati da Itosu (si pensi ad esempio al Naihanchi del Bushi Tachimura, coevo del più famoso Bushi Matsumura). Ma a prescindere dalla posizione adottata, risulta evidente che essa abbia un ruolo funzionale primario in relazione allo stile di combattimento trasmesso dal kata Tekki/Naihanchi: compatto, corpo a corpo, efficiente e altamente efficace.
