Why does the "follow edges" option not seem to work in your example? Works fine for me, no need to adjust the guidelines manually.

Nice tutorial ... how we can model rebar consists of ( straight part + curved part ) ... for example : longitudinal top & bottom bars in strip footing with curved part ... thank you .
