I remember in the dominican republic we made scooters that were powered with rubber bands. You would wind up the rubber bands with a pully and gear and it would stretch them very very tight. We used at least four on the rear wheel ... to release the energy you used a trigger system and you used a brake handle to control the amount of force. It functioned almost like an e-bike but with rubber bands! Eventually we figured out how to wind the rubber bands with the pedals and you could wind the rubber bands and then go ... they became really popular and you would see tons of them on the road during that era .... it was always fun watching how people came up with inventions to harness the power of energy .

@@Stoney1959 I find it amazing that THOUSANDS of years ago they figured it was much easier to make a very primitive lathe with ropes and sticks and then be able to make a round object PRECISELY. (invention of the wheel : circa 4'000 BEFORE Jesus-christ) These guys have ENGINES, GASOLINE etc... But yet, people with access to computer just like you, think it is incredible that Africa 2024 didn't figure it out. Even tho they have access to internet. They are literally thousands of years behind this technology. Amazing. i don't know what is the worst.. Unfortunately the sad reality is that they are severely overloading the engine, this is more than likely going to lead to it burning out or will lead to the destruction of some very important parts, I see this quite often where areas such as this in the third world will often out wear pieces of vital equipment by continuously overloading them, this is a horrible thing to do in a part of the world that is extremely hard to get replacement parts too and more often than not does not have the technical ability to have qualified mechanics around every corner, they even overloaded the large truck at the end and I can tell you that if they keep doing that the truck isn't lasting two years on them roads before it seriously conks out.

For the people of the Congo, those scooters are very good! They are made with wood and scraps. But they help you to carry large loads of wood! You have to make do with what you have. For those cutting down the trees, for a more safe method of cutting the trees. First, cut a wedge on the side you want the tree to fall. Maybe about two thirds, maybe a little less. Then, cut another wedge on the opposite side, but not all the way through. The small part that is left will hold onto the bottom, it just breaks, but it is more controlled. I learned that from watching a logging show a long time ago. It was a show that shows people here in America doing the same thing. When the trees fall, sometimes they can be unpredictable and bounce around after they fall, or the bottom hits the logger during the fall. That method is what they do to try to be more safe.

This is one of the main reasons they don't want to give our people reparations in America because our people are already capable of making something happen with nothing and they know this. They also still owe us because of the inventions that we have created in America and they still don't want to do right-bye our people. That's the reason why this country is going to fall. They say that reparations would be divisive but they never said that when it came to other people that they've given reparations to who suffered much less than our people have in this country. Yes I'm one of those people that bring this subject up because I'm not going to give up on it because it's not about just money. It's about doing the right thing to make wrong right? What a craftsman! I admire that the younger men participate as well. Nobody sitting around glued to their cell phones, right? We probably should really take note of this building process and remember it well ... just in case ... one never knows! This was a very good video of how to get the job done!

These talented and resourceful people have made incredible progress after being introduced to the wheel and axle invention over two hundred years ago. The oldest wheel known to exist is from Slovenia, over 5,200 years old. The oldest known image of a wheel is from Poland, 5,400 years old.

@@widehotep9257 "The wheel was invented in the 4th millennium BC in Lower Mesopotamia(modern-day Iraq), where the Sumerian people inserted rotating axles into solid discs of wood." It makes sense. The Europeans were not known for using chariots as the Mesopotamians and Africans were (Egypt and Sudan). The Europeans also were not road builders, which makes wheeled travel easier. Centuries later, the Euros were not using the wheel in warfare.
@widehotep9257

@@jonothandoeser Actually, all so-called "experts" in academia agree that they cannot prove where the wheel originated. The oldest drawing of a wheel is from Poland 5,350 years ago. The oldest actual wheel comes from Slovenia 5,200 years ago. The oldest written account of a wheel (actually a wagon) comes from the ancient city of Uruk. But Uruk was 5,200 years old, and their earliest writings can't be translated because no one can decipher the strange pictographs. Their writing can only be translated from 4800 years ago forward. So the earliest mentioning of a "wagon" by writers in Uruk happened at least 550 years after the oldest drawing of a wheel happened in Europe. There are older examples of clay pots being made on "pottery wheels" in mesopotamia, but these are turn-tables. These are NOT wheel and axle inventions used in wagons, wheelbarrows and chariots. Based on these FACTS, it looks like Europeans invented the wheel. This could change if a new discovery appears. But based on the fact that most earth-changing modern inventions come from the minds of Europeans, I think it is safe to say that they invented the wheel.
