Tekno EB410 - A Few Laps with Jake Thayer

Here's one of three of my running videos of the Tekno EB410, 1/10th scale 4wd buggy kit. 2017 Stock National's Champ, Jake Thayer offered to take my brand new EB410 for a spin at the world famous OCRC - who passes up that opportunity?? Jake did a great job with a freshly built kit running brand new tires and zero experience with the electronics including the brand new Futaba 7PX.

Some great laps! Cant help but thinkijg tho- Man has RC racing changed a lot. I think someday "off road" tracks will be made of pavement. Miss the days when off road tracks actually had dirt...

Im hoping you will be able to help me here. I have a tekno eb410 and i don't know what motor and esc to go with. Im looking at the hobbywing xr10 pro esc with a hobbywing v10 13.5 motor. But also I've been looking at the tekin rsx with a g3 red line 13.5 motor and also some reedy stuff and maclan combos. Could You reccomend a good combo for the eb410 ?

ULTiMATE TRAXXAS MAN budget wise,, the HW combo can’t be beat. Partner it with the WiFi module and you have a great combo. There is something about Tekin power I like through, but it does come at a premium. I have the new Maclan combo, but haven’t tested it. I actually just swapped out the Tekin combo for the HW, but running the 6.5t V10 Motor

Jake was really laying it down. When I drove it (much slower...lol) It felt really smooth and quiet

No front sway needed according to the box set up....it's an option part. After running it, it doesn't need it. I asked both experts that drove my test car and neither said it needed it

Tekno needs to make a lighter weight version for spec racers. Spec racing isn't as fast so going lighter shouldn't affect durability much if at all.

one4all I think Tekno have is a great starting point. Mine we ghee in at 1670 and that’s not too far off from some of the super lights...plus isn’t minimum weight like 1615?

That's Jake's and most wheeler's driving style..get that nose down to get traction off the front tires and accelerate

Yep, works on 4WD, get that traction action as soon as possible. Plus you want it down going into the landing-face of the following jump when you time it right.

That's done on purpose to get the front wheels down matching the face of the track when you land. Smoother landing and traction, driver's that do it can save tons of time per lap.
