Man, this was my childhood tune. I actually had this tape when it first came out and I was around 5 or 6 at the time. I remember I used to have everything Chicago Bulls and Michael Jordan all in my room, posters of him on my wall and then collecting all the Starting Lineup action figures of him. Unbeknownst to most people including myself Jordan had another "theme" song back in '86 by a rapper named "Scorpio". This song brings back some memories! Thanks for posting this!

He had a finesse artistry 🎨 to him. All his highlights have to be slowed down while you can see him going under and around people switching up the ball in slow motion. You dont see that in the NBA anymore. So I worked at Gatorade (Quaker Oats) headquarters on the business at this time. What few people know is that the original theme for the commercial was set to be to a tune from the Disney movie The Jungle Book. Disney backed out last minute, literally like the day before or something like that, and a guy at BBV, our ad agency, stayed up all night and wrote the tune. Weren't sure Michael was going to buy in because of the "Mike" instead of "Michael" but it all worked out. That summer this song made the top 10 most requested songs across the country making it the only advertising jingle to ever do that.
