Still running this motherboard, got 32 GB of 1400 MHz RAM running an i7-3770K. About to swap out the SSHD I originally bought cause the disk is going out, but been running the OS FROM an SSD since 2 years ago. The board is still rocking with Win 10 pro

Resistors are ohms, capacitors are in farad or unit of capacity . U find them often in microfarads because 1 farad is a huge amount. On topic : difference between 2k , 5k or 10k caps stands for how long the life expectations are. 2k equals 2.000.000 hours i believe.

Haha! It is Jul;y 2020 and, believe it or not, I've just bought the very last one of these in Australia BRAND NEW UNUSED UNOPENED IN BOX! Coulkd not believe I found it. A genuine item from someone that forgot he had it as a spare and just discovered it in his bottom drawer. Who'd have thunk?! Hahahahaha! Had to get something as my old Gigabyte Z77 died and I had still the 3770K CPU+DDR3 I had to use. Ya know, this combo edits 4K video with 32GB DDR3. Amazing Mobo. It will fill the bill until early 2021 when USB4 hits the TRX40 MoBos and I build my dream machine. P8 Z77 will do venerable service 'til then. Thanks for the great review.

When you first turn your computer on just press f9 through f12 awell as deleate and enter many times one of these button should get you to your bios menu. If you do not understand the settings do not change them. It could be bad.

I want to hit 4.8 on the 3770K with an H100i. Will the Sabertooth's thermal armor and little fans be better for that, or will this board be better? I'm not sure if the Saber's "features" are gimmicks or not.

Press the memok button to boot up if it gives you that light. The issue is your RAM not the motherboard.

I've been happy with my P8Z77-V and the bios is great! nice features and everything went great so personally, go with asus

It would be no different. With my mobo and some good case airflow (in summer), my mobo never went over 30C and is usually at 25C with the highest it went up to is 27C. I suggest you go with this board because it is a best overclocker and I have never had any problems ever. The thermal amour on the Sabertooth is nothing but for looks.

i would like to see a 50000 farad capacitor .they should be as big as a gas tank. A 1 farad capacitor is often used in cars where they put a huge sound system in to adress the voltage drops, it is as big as a 1 liter pet bottle.

This board is very picky about the RAM you install I found out. Also please do a overclocking guide on this board. I have the same board and cant break 4.4GHz with even 1.3 V on the V core. I must be doing something wrong

For now and the current video card hardware=yes exactly. Hopefully in the next gen ( nvidia 700 and 8000 amd) we'll see a realistic noticeable difference.

Believe what you will. The only consumer GPU cards that can saturate a PCI-e 2.0 x16 slot is a GTX 690 or an AMD 7990. When it comes to that, dual GPU's, PCI-e 3.0 x16 would be better, but not necessary. It doesn't bottleneck very much. But with professional cards, Teslas, Quadros, etc, 4 GPU cards, PCI-e 3.0 x16 is NECESSARY. Without a doubt.

So I'm looking at this board and put a 3570k in it. The board is $190 and the CPU is $220. However, Asus has a nice looking ROG board for $200 for the Haswell CPU, but the 4670k is $250. It'd cost $40 more to go new gen...would it be worth it in this scenario?

Hashwell less than 2 months, lol... You will need to wait until 2014 to get a hashwell on a regular store. The chips were made about 3-4 months ago, but they are still on a "closed beta" state and will be released to everyone on their final state next year.

I was replying to mr schweizer who claims he has replaced 1 microfarad caps wit 50000 farad caps on his mac. It was meant to be sarcastic . And a 1 Farad cap does exist, they use it in car stereo installations with high wattages to reduce the ripple in the voltage. Just google 1 Farad capacitor and you will see they are about as big as a soda bottle. I just think that mr scheizer has a huge mac if he can fit 50000 bottles in it ;-)

Asus motherboards over the last little while have really been awesome, the only problem is they are about 10 - 20 persent more expensive than the Msi and Gigabyte equivalent BUT i think it is totally worth it

The only time PCI-e 3.0 is NECESSARY to not bottleneck is with a GTX 690 or an AMD 7990 GPU. Or a professional GPU like a Tesla or a Quadro. I believe. Could be wrong about the Pro GPU's but that's 4 GPU's on 1 card. Crazy. 2 GPU's on the same PCI-e slot matters. They can saturate the slot when it's PCI-e 3.0 x8 (which is equivalent to PCI-e 2.0 x16) but those are the only things that can. Even then. PCI-e 3.0 x 16 blows it out of the water.
