Yep when it come to reel to reel, cassette decks and tube amplifier and other tube gear prefer analog scopes. Take me a split second to read gratitude scale. Granted have a Tektronix DPO I use as well, but the analog scope use to calibrate decks as can see shakes and etc if transport is drifting in real time. Plus most cheap Chinese oscilloscope have poor sensitivity like the Fniris which is 50mv at it lowest vertical sensitivity at 1x times 10x time would be completely useless which would be completely useless for measuring ripple and noise. If you want both true analog and digital as it multiplexes when you switch over, something like the Tektronix 2230, or 2232, if you only have room for a single oscilloscope and don’t need over 100 MHz bandwidth.
