Early on you wrote that Israel, "physically kicked out the indigenous population & stole their homes," & this is a lie. The ancestors of "Palestinians" were Arabs who believed the leaders of 5 Arab nations who attacked Israel in 1948. The leaders said, "We will win & you can move back after we win.". Those leaders were wrong. They lost. The Arabs who didn't run away have descendents who are Israeli citizens w good educations, medical benefits, voting rights, elected members in the Knesset. Israeli Muslims Arabs aren't required to serve in the IDF & as time goes on more & more volunteer. Fact; Israel ranked #5 in the World Happiness Report, & Israeli Muslims Arabs, 20% of the Israeli population, were part of the survey. The highest ranking Arabic nations are those swimming in oil money, & they are in the 20s in the world happiness Report. The rest of the region is around 100, with Palestinians at #103. Being filled w hate makes a people unhappy. Israeli Muslims are the happiest Muslim community in the region. Hamas expected them to fight Israel on Oct 7, & they did not. Use some real history. Those who fled lost their homes to war, not to theft. And try to use your brains.

@@dt6822 you seem to don’t know most arabs left israel asked by arab leaders. And the land was actually purchased, by arab leaders, who forced arab owners to give it to them, so they could sell it to zionists, in order to rise the price as they wanted, at the same time as speaking against jewish colonialism. The so called “exile” happened 1) purely for safety reasons 2) by arab orders, in order to strike the attack to definitely destroy Israel in 1948 These are historical facts If you like talking about occupation and colonialism, tell me what are muslims doing in Europe, making ghetto boroughs with sharia law, who act de facto as independent enclaves, forcing locals to flee through violence, and eventually telling them that is a no-go zone. This isn’t PM Netanyahu vs Gaza-this is a struggle between regional and global tyrannical forces as we witnessed in WW2. The US press is so narrow in its focus currently-painting a legally elected PM from a liberal democracy who has far less internal power as PM then do US presidents for example -as a tyrant akin to Sadem Hussein or the Ayatollah of Iran just to scapegoat him as somehow responsible for Oct 7 and somehow perpetuating “war crimes” etc when the war criminals are Hamas and their bosses Iran and Qatar. Putin is deeply involved in Oct 7 as well-why? Because it’s an existential global crisis of tyranny vs liberal democracy being played out -Gaza and Hamas are a microcosm.

Did you know that more Jews were expelled from Arab nations than Palestinian Arabs who left Israel? "In total, over 850,000 Jews were forced to leave the Arab countries, in a process of expulsion and exodus which continued through the 1970's." The Arabs were invited to form a separate state in Palestine and they rejected the two-state solution. the Arabs started a war to "throw all the Jews into the sea". As a result: "In the 1948 Palestine war, more than 700,000 Palestinian Arabs - about half of Mandatory Palestine's predominantly Arab population - were expelled or fled from their homes, at first by Zionist paramilitaries, and after the establishment of Israel, by its military."

Only a few months separated our call for them to leave and our appeal to the United Nations to resolve on their return." - Khaled al-Azm, Syrian Prime Minister, 1948-1949 "The Arab exodus from other villages was not caused by the actual battle, but by the exaggerated description spread by Arab leaders to incite them to fight the Jews." - Yunes Ahmad Assad, Palestinian refugee as told to a Jordanian newspaper in 1953. As an israeli arab i concur. We live near the Jordanian border. Mt grandfather was instructed to leave his home by the jordanian army, my grandad told them to get "f****d" and stayed. Zahir Muhsein was a Palestinian leader of the pro-Syria As-Sa'iqa Ba'athist faction of the Palestine Liberation Organization between 1971 and 1979. In an interview with Trouw Magazine, 31. March 1977 he stated....."The Palestinian people do not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel for our Arab unity. In reality today there is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. Yes, the existence of a separate Palestinian identity exists only for tactical reasons. The establishment of a Palestinian state is a new tool to continue the fight against Israel and for Arab unity. So where are the geographical roots of the so called Palestinians??????? Hamas Minister of the Interior and of National Security Fathi Hammad, aired by Al-Hekma TV on March 23, 2012. Stated..........we all have Arab roots, and every Palestinian, in Gaza and throughout Palestine, can prove his Arab roots - whether from Saudi Arabia, from Yemen, or anywhere. We have blood ties. Personally, half my family is Egyptian. We are all like that. More than 30 families in the Gaza Strip are called Al-Masri ["Egyptian"]. Brothers, half of the Palestinians are Egyptians and the other half are Saudis. Who are the Palestinians? We have many families called Al-Masri, whose roots are Egyptian. Egyptian! They may be from Alexandria, from Cairo, from Dumietta, from the North, from Aswan, from Upper Egypt. We are Egyptians. The so called Palestinians are not even from Palestine!!!!!!!!!!

It takes bravery to be a soldier but bombing a population that has no army, no Air Force and no air defense is not a brave strategy. Daesh and Hamas have the same ideology and the same goals: world Caliphate, extermination of the world Jewry. Their only difference is their immediate target: Europe and regional for Isis, Israel for Hamas. I'd like to ask Dan a question. It's apparent that there is growing unrest amongst the Iranian population. They would love to have a secular government and become the economic power they are capable of. So what does Dan think would happen if there were a counter-revolution in Iran and a moderate government took power, one that doesn't support funding Hezbollah or Hamas or any other terror groups? And what do you think the chances of that happening are? Persia has a long history of supporting the Jews. The one change that would make all the difference is if the mullahs are removed from power.
@DickTator69694 ай бұрын
I'm not dan and I am not an expert on geopolitics (but find it's interesting) I think when (not if , it's a question of when imo) it would happen that would change the entire picture and Israel should officially support a movement like that even if it's just by sharing intelegance with them , or recognize them diplomatically ( of course there are many other ways we could work together for a shared goal) . I think that if someone is going to be the forefront to push back islamism is going to be the persians from the shia side , and maybe some of the gulf countries from the sunni side and it would be better for everyone but it's also could potentially lead to alot of bloodshed but it's better for the long run and the bloodshed is already happening in Iran , in israel and in the entire region . so the change is necessery . and if a different way could be found where only the blood of the bad guys is spilled it's even better but realistically it's usually not the case unfortenatly ,I hope I can be proven wrong so far it's seems that the good guys keep shooting themselves in the legs and assisting the bad guys instead of anhialiting them , I hope the persians wouldn't do the same mistakes the west and israel keeps doing for decades now . and yes war is bad I aknowledge that but sometimes the alternative is much worse. sometimes if you want to de-escalte you will get an october 7th or in the case of Iran if you want more freedom , you will get even less for assisting the wrong people . it's very similar to the case of the soviet union with the tzar only here instead of the communists getting in power the communists where used by the islamists to get in power . but any way I'd wish to some day being able to visit iran once it's regime is changed to something better than the garbage of a terroristic regime they are having right now (like a cancer that keeps on growing and destroying the country that needed to be removed).

Why can’t Israel have a written and ratified Constitution?
@jaialaiwarrior6 ай бұрын
They like to keep their options open. But the body of basic laws they have provides a decent framework for one anyway.

A country which manages its constitution through shared, informal understanding and commitment rather than in a fixed theoretical form is able to manage change and development without breaking the theoretical model.

kind of do, it's an ongoing process, it's built in chapters in Israel.. we call them "Fundamental Rights", these are laws with a super legal status. there's one about the authorities of the parliament, one about courts. one about human dignity and liberty. I believe it's what Americans call amendments, just different name. the ideas and purpose of Israel are generally mentioned in the declaration of independence. check it out.

I am an American and I totally agree with this man. We know what has happened to our country, we just don't know how to get it back. We have too many politicans who hate America and a press that is bought and hides behind freedom of the press.

This man has a clarity of rational thought that when you hear him, everything falls into place.

He's exaggerating the importance of Meretz, the religious zionists are way more important in the Israeli society so giving up on them for the crazy progressive party doesn't make sense. And I'm not even talking about the fact they're the only ones who saw the danger of Hamas (and the Palestinians in general) and wasn't mistaken by the security's establishment conepetion.

so true bestie, only bezalel "hamas is an asset" smotrich foresaw the danger... also kahane lives amirite

@@nipsonanomimata Well I was speaking about the religious zionists who always opposed to widrawl and have always warned that leaving a territory will only increase terrorism, the discussion over the disengagement plan we're completely over that subject and the people that were most ridiculed were mostly right. And addressing smootrich, he said that from a diplomatic point of view the PA os more dangerous than Hamas, but he always held the opinion that we should destroy Hamas at the first opportunity we have and take back the control of the Gaza strip.

Biggest problem for Israel - dishonesty, not the political far left and right. The usa breaking apart is the sheer dishonesty of the democrats. I think he's also wrong about smotrich and ben gvir. These two have been the closest to wanting to win and don't buy the bs of civilians or aiding them. As this fellow said, "70% support khamas." khamas=civilians.

No question that Dan Scheuftan is very insightful with his analysis about the geopolitical situation regarding the destructive nature of progressivism and the folly of international institutions, the UN and its branches. However, when he says that there is no fundamental issue that split the Israeli part (non Haredim nor Arabs) of our society, he can't be more wrong. How can he say that the Israeli High Court rule over the Knesset is not a major problem that split the Israeli society. I speculate that he comes from the secular elite that is fine with the current situation of non-democratic High Court rule.
