I’ve just ordered a second-hand copy of this one to help fill my collection. Thanks for the memories Roothy, they never get old!

I’ve got most, some from when I subscribed to the mag and some from buying the ones I don’t have from eBay. Almost complete now! 😁

Ha! I don't even have a full set myself anymore - too many floods and downsizing....

You don’t need the videos boss, you lived it! Any chance we can see you make some more, even if you play the role of elder statesman? How about a minor segment called “Campfire Stories with Roothy”? I’m sure all the guys you’ve formerly worked with would love to include you in their channels. I’m sure you have many back-stories you could tell, plus these knock-snouts need some grounding and purpose in their productions. Do I sound like an over-enthusiastic fan? Oh well, I reckon you’ve got plenty to offer us still, even with a peg leg. I hope it’s healing well brother! 🙏🏼😉👍🏼

15:50 Flashback to 1979 when I was workin in oil search out West of Longreach. We had a heap of rin and part of the seismic line was a mess. One of the crew decided to go through a bog hole, rather around. The LC tray back was basically floating on its tray. They had to bring a grader out to hitch onto him to pull him out. I'm guessing your recovery took at least a six-pack... 24:45 Flashback to 1986, on the old track into Five Rocks and Nine Mile Beach. It went through the paperbark swamp and we left late to get back home to Blackwater. So it's dark, we're following the painted tree signs (Blue=easy, Yellow = dodgy) and our mate in the Fourrunner dropped the passenger side into a deep rut. The passenger side door was just clear of the water in the hole, while the passenger side was high and dry, and the drivetrain was sitting on the high part of the rut. It took about 2 hours to dig it out.

Still miss ya on the new series mate. Would be great for you to do cameo on there... Shauno and Graham wouldn't be where they are today without your initial popularity

Yeah thanks for that the boys have done well but it's all different to the things I did.

What's the story with 4wd action? Did rooty sell it to Graham and shono?
@JOHNROOTHROOTHY Жыл бұрын
I never owned it mate - was just a contractor. I think the boys got it when the magazine side of the business closed down.

Rooth, your motor is four or six cilinders?
@JOHNROOTHROOTHY Жыл бұрын
It's a 13BT turbo four cylinder from a small coaster bus. Used a lot of 3B Toyota bits to make it fit.
