Yes .. Now a days many virtualized nodes are running in Telecom Networks with NFV ( Example IMS Core - CSCF , TAS , SBC etc.. , Packet Core - SGSN , PGW , MME , Signalling Core - DRA , STP , PCRF etc.. ) .. These are virtually running on common Server based Hardware in various telecom Networks with help of NFV

Generix Open SDN controllers : OpenContrail , OpenDaylight , Floodlight etc.. NFVI : HP , DELL , Cisco , Huawei , IBM etc.. VIM : VMWare , Red Hat Open Stack .. Mirantis , Canonical etc.. Automation / Orchestration : Cisco , ONAP , MANO , etc..
