I couldn't figure out why i couldn't export my animations, but thanks to your vid i knew i had to delete the original vector graphics after converting them. Thanks! I have a tip for you btw: When you animated that person you went through a lot of hassle to align the animations. Here's how you can easily connect the limbs to make a puppet: - Make sure your layers are correct and the anchor points are in place where joints on the body are - Parent the limbs from hand to shoulder - Done! if you move the arm the hand should stay attached to the arm. Im not good with explaining stuff so it might help to look up Parenting for after effects. Hope this helps!

I'm using 2019. It is hard to diagnose without actually looking at it, so all I can really suggest is you make sure that you have deleted all of the layers that have the Adobe Illustrator logo next to them after having created shapes from those layers. Even a single layer that is not a shape will prevent it from working. Also remember not to use any effects or mattes.

Very helpful tutorial. I tried using Gradient Fill for the stickers, but it rendered weirdly with the color kinda off when preview in telegram. Have you tried with Gradient before? Whats the best way to do it ?

Your tutorial is so useful, thanks But i've some questions Can i put differents shape layers inside differents compositions and, put it all togueter in one Last composition? And the Last one... I've made some vector forms in Ps, is there a way to convert them in shape layer? Without Illustrator?

You should be able to nest compositions as long as you remember to create shapes from vector layer in all of the compositions. As for creating vectors in Photoshop, you might have to save each vector separately and then import each one as an SVG into After Effects. Okay when I import images to edit I get an error. Composition should not contain any images. How do I edit the file inside AE so when I try to render as tsg it doesnt do this. There has to be a way people make custom animated stickers all the time featuring popular icons etc.

When attempting to render I keep getting "Render Failed! Composition should not include any images". In illustrator 2023 I drew a square shape, saved that as an .ai file with default settings, imported that as composition in an empty After Effects 2023 project, made a new composition, dragged just the imported .ai file to the timeline, and exported that composition using the extension - I did exactly what this video shows. Any idea what might be happening here?

When you have dragged the ai file in the timeline, right click on it: Create -> Create shapes from the vector layers. Then you will see your layers as a shape with a star symbol. After that delete the AI files from the timeline and that should work.

I opened it in illustrator and resized to 512x512 saved it as .ai - opened it in after effects and did all the steps. for some reason when I richt click the .ai file --> create shapes from vector layer it just makes the image grey (when I click on fill and make it transparent I still cant see my image anymore - its just plain white.) I do see the selected area moving when I go through my timeline like the image should move because of the keyframes I placed. Dont know if there is a solution for this?

I've been using "bodymovin-extension" for a while and never had any problems but today I tried to export the sticker but it keeps telling me that the file is too big when all of the sizes of my assets are very small, so it had me very puzzled how is it possible that it's too big when the sizes of my previous stickers assets were much bigger. If I'm doing something wrong please let me know.

Lottie doesn't allow masking (or effects or most of those things) but indeed there are some people that can do it.
