I loved it when we were colourblind. People were just people - my bestie (sadly prematurely dead from cancer) was black, but it was never ever discussed. Britain will always be multicultural because of its imperial, colonial history. The question is how well do we accept and love one another as part of one patriotic country. Love involves telling the truth and being trustworthy. It needs to start in the home but seeing leaders demonstrate hard work, good character, family, unity and team work, etc we have a fighting chance. Too sweeping to say integration is not working. Some ethnic minorities have been integrated into British society, even assimilated, others not so. Second and third generation Poles, some of who I have known personally, are a good example, as are the Irish, most Jews, Sikhs, Hindus etc. But not nearly all Muslims. They have chosen to live a self- segrated life, and short of legal compulsion, which would be morally wrong, there is not much that can be done about it.

Kemi Badenoch is definitely the leader the rump of the Tory party deserves. Articulate, intelligent, reasonably capable of holding onto a debating point, arrogant beyond words, sociopathic, privileged, rich and ignorant of real issues and lacking in empathy or compassion, she is the epitome of Tory values and policies. I sincerely hope she becomes leader, as this will substantially lengthen the time they remain unelectable
