I've had both and currently have a Boxster S. They are both great cars but for me the Porsche is worth the extra money. I've had a Honda S2000 as well which was a great car but didn't handle as well as the Porsche. Rating for me, Porsche, Honda then Audi.

I drive an 04 Boxster S every day. I have owned lots of different cars over the years but I have to say the Porsche is fantastic. It does everything you could ever want & won’t deprecate as fast as the other cars in its class. Good vid.👍

Having owned an Audi TT, replaced my modded MX5 Turbo BBR poor thing died of tin worm and currently a 911, the difference in how they drive is light years apart. The feeling, steering, feedback and excitement of the Porsche is far far better. The Audi Quattro may be faster on some roads, especially in bad weather, but the Porsche is the one that will put a big grin on your face.

I actually did cross shop them. I ended up buying a Porsche Cayman/Boxster. But for the the price of a 10 year old base Cayman (no options), I could buy a near new TT with remaining factory warranty for the same price with cash to spare. Porsche's just do not depreciate as much. But the TT is an excellent car, the interior is stunning.

Is there really a place for wondering? Boxter is way better - the look, the trill, the dynamic... Although TT is nice car it is still a front wheel drive VW Golf underneath. And I really don't like new front gill and lights neither the stupid TFT display instead normal gages - I would like to drive car not Ipad!

Cause you can't really compare those two. Then you'd have to compare TTS/RS and Boxster or something like that.

AUT IceT Yes and? Still boring to drive compared to Boxter ...You can't drift, no mater how good is the suspension set up you going to feel the intervention of the power over the front axle... ...and it is still Audi not Porsche (although if I'm not wrong Porsche use the TT platform for Boxter) not to mention that Boxter looks way better in my ewes... and I really hate Audi new "digital display" for me this is a complete shit and no one need it - just a posh toy to charge you more... no thanks :)

I think it depends what you want, if you want a open roof convertible that is very comfortable and you can use every day and dont care about the ultmatie driving thrills then you would go for the TT. However if you love driving and you want to have the most pleasure and feel the road with the nice RWD set up then the boxster is your choice.

I would go with Audi TT considering that Boxster for whatever the reason got insane tax added to the price. While Audi didn't,The TT starts at 3.1 million THB and Boxster starts at the ridiculous 6 million+ THB.

Thanks for the comparison. Boxster 981 PDK DFI for me no question about it a cabriolet sports car that sounds and drives like one. With 20” Carrera wheels it holds the road better than anything I’ve driven. It’s not a hard ride either and the suspension is very comfortable, which is a great plus. Once driven forever smitten.

"Two litre TFSI" is not a 'version' of the TT, the entry level TT and the faster TTS both have the same engine, but the TTS is tuned faster. So stating that you're testing the "two litre TFSI" version doesn't actually tell us which TT model you're testing.

I had a TT mkii and this one is better, but it's still a style driven road car, whereas the Boxster is a sports car. The Boxster GTS drives better than it's more expensive rivals let alone the TT, and I completely agree with the point made about feeling instantly at home behind the wheel. It's so planted and well balanced, even my wife didn't feel travel sick which is a first. I was loathed to test drive (poor man's 911?) but the wife insisted we at least try it. We spent hours with more expensive cars (even an F Type) but it took just 5 minutes to choose the Boxster instead. 18 months later and I still can't find anything to tempt me..... Except a Lambo :)

Yes but that might have meant a different result and no reviewer is going to say that an Audi is better than a Porsche. Almost every TT/Boxster review goes like this; "am in the TT, oh what a lovely interior, virtual cockpit is amazing, oh aren't the air vents lovely, it's really fast, great handling BUT I wish I could feel the road more (half won't even know what that means but they say it anyway now it doesn't understeer), it's quick but boring so don't buy it. Now I am in a Porsche in a totally different price category and basically I've wet myself as it is The Best Car Ever Made and can do no wrong".

i have t he tt right now and would stick with it.. i dont respect any rumor that anti turbo this day in age its like saying your anti hospital cuz you go to church ones a perfectly fine way of doing something the other in modern and can do it better and the fact their calling now i havent drove slower well im sure it is you can only bore an engine so much you turbo it as long as the design and alloy hold up ... seemingly transmission design should be able to compensate to a underrated level that im not totally aware of but i have seen a 1 to 1.5 seconds to 60 over tans design engine design more importantly turbo or n/a and trans design and weight but ill say this engine design cant beat turbo in reality cylinders cant either i mean turbos have a whole science of their own but way the setting come on turbos stock often expensive care that put it all into the other factors beat them and it seems like their just beginning to add them on top of cars that dont thats what really gets me they really are simply picking thinner engine walls for bore strength instead with turbos witch i dont think ever comes close in the same size cars in say a charger thats like a truck engine and win without turbo ... alas its all over anyway that musk ... its really is ... over the electric cars do things i never though i would be able to drive let alone afford at some point

Boxster S all the way! Its an amazing car, not so much the normal entry level one. That is more of the roadster stereo type. It lacks torque. The S is a beast though.Same with most Porsche models really. Save up and get an S

The Audi TT has certainly improved styling design both inside and out, but it's driving experience just doesn't deliver to suit those sporty looks. I do understand that Audi likes their front wheel bias Haldex system, but they should atleast use a 70% rear bias for their more sporty models. *Yawn*. Audi make great daily drivers, but emotionless sports cars.

MrElnuno Um...says me. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Let’s think about this, maxing out the performance on either car isn’t really going to happen as I’m not taking either of these to the track. Thus, in terms of performance, I’m going to be more than satisfied with either. Looks, I think they both look amazing (granted which ever I decide, it will be the coupe). Here’s the real dilemma for me, a Porsche is a Porsche...badass and looks great. I love Audi’s though (I previously owned an A5) and the interior is BY FAR better in the Audi. I mean that cockpit is revolutionary and EVERYONE will follow suit soon enough. So yeah...I’m having a difficult time deciding. But hey, it’s all subjective, right?

TT has the better interior and the more refined engine, though I'd prefer the Coupe version, simply because that's what it's meant to be. The TT Roadster is a Coupe which lost its roof. In that respect, Boxster remains the king, because it was designed from day one to be a roadster. Bring on TT Coupe vs Cayman!

In fact, the TT was a Roadster that then become a Coupe. They slapped a roof on it for the concept car.

I didn't know that actually. The first production car was ,a Coupe ( Sep '98 ) and then came the Roadster ( Aug '99 ). That's what I'm referencing. But anyway, the Coupe is the better model in my opinion. I'd prefer the Boxster over the Roadster, but hey, that's just me.

Yes it was a curious decision they made in the 90s and I would love to know the thinking behind it, but the TT roadster became a coupe for the concept and, as you say, did not reappear again until later. Love the Boxster and (new) TT.

Well first of all, I'd like to say thank you to you for demonstrating the both- perfect cars- for me to easily witness side by side, since I probably wouldn't have been able to do that. I see how this is a challenge; to decided which of two differently good cars is preferable. I see a slightly higher quality in Porsche, of course, that's how it is, but I love the feeling of modern high quality turbo charging and this Audi TT certainly is up there as one of the best. I am compelled to like the newest Audi TT over the Boxster. This is the 1st TT that I like the exterior of without wishing to change at least one small thing. I wouldn't change anything about this one. I disagree with people who say the computer screen is tacky. It is so gorgeous and even a Porsche would be sophisticated with it. I however understand why they like the old-fashioned mechanical gauges as those are sweet engineering and beautiful design, too. The TT screen is more capable, indisputably, yet tidy.
