I LOVE my TX Pros!!! I could sleep in them. I grew up thinking that one’s feet fell asleep in ski boots, and that’s just the way it is - suck it up. But these boots fit my fat feet so nicely, I am never in a hurry to take them off.

These have a nicer flex in the bellows than the T1. More natural feeling. You can adjust the Outlaw bindings to make the bellows feel stiffer if you want.

Always appreciate your videos. I learn so much from them. I just switched to NTN a few weeks ago after 20 yrs on 75mm. I was having some trouble getting in sync on the first days out and thought it was the skis (wider with more rocker than my old ones and I mostly ski icy hardpack). But I didn't even consider the bellows and binding stiffness. After watching this video, I put on my old T1s, and sure enough, WAY harder to flex the bellows than the TX Pro. When I got the T1's years ago, I thought they were too stiff but I adapted to ski more aggressively. I'll have to adapt to this TxPro. In theory, I prefer a softer bellows just for more freedom of movement. But since you mentioned the springs, I think putting stiffy springs in my Outlaw X bindings could help me bridge the gap to adapt my technique. Thanks as always, keep up the good work!

Thanks for the vid. Really interested in how you think these compare to the TX Comps. I love my Comps but they’re 8 seasons young and when I first started I found them too stiff. Wondering whether my well beaten comps might have a flex more akin to these or whether it’s just the bellows that soften up over time rather than overall boot flex.

Glad you liked it. Here's a link to a playlist that has some of our older videos. We do comparisons with Comp vs. Pro in a few of them. kzbin.info/aero/PLqq9cnX6DT7iaHZB_4DPGu98xt10RSmUG After 8 seasons, you are probably correct on your comps feeling similar to TX Pro. Just remember that the bellow on the Pro will break down over time in a similar fashion, and you have to be good with that softness. Lots of variables. If you need new boots and would like to go through us, we are happy to spend the time on phone dialing in. Schedule a time via customerservice@freeheellife.com. Cheers - Josh Madsen

How does this do for high-volume feet? I was looking for the scott voodoo ntn because they are supposedly good for high-volume feet, but I think they stopped making those. Great video!
@FreeheelLife
@FreeheelLife Жыл бұрын
Glad you enjoyed the video. The Voodoo did seem to help people with high-volume in regards to high arch. It's actually narrower by 2mm than the Scarpa boots so TX Pro could work for some. Yes on not being made any longer and I never liked the lack of mid-strap on the Scott boots. Overall the TX Pro is a better boot all around in construction, etc, but I get that the options for all foot sizes are limited.

If F'ing Scarpa would make the in sizes larger than 30, I would have bought these years ago. But since they don't, I'm still in my 75mm T1s. People complain that Tele skiers don't buy stuff, but Jesus Scarpa how long does it take you to make a shell one size larger like the T1.

No worries at all. It's actually been a concern of mine for a long time. The difficulty really lies both with the boot and binding makers though. I'm not sure but I suspect they may need to make an XL NTN or something. Not positive on that but could be the case.

These boots are extremely comfortable but don’t last. Bought a fresh pair for the 23/24 season. Right bellows crease cracked on my big toe day 9 and the left did the same day 18. When the first crease crack occurred scarpa and the shop I bought them from said it was user error. Don’t expect boots to last forever but probably should have made out out of December with them. To add insult the dealer told me I needed to learn how to turn. Never skied with the dude once ever. By day 70 the bellows on both boots were completely destroyed after multiple attempts of saving them with tape to flex seal and everything between. Biggest disappointment of the ski season. Buyer be ware of the lack of customer service provided on a defective product. Going for the crispi next season.

Happy birthday TX Pro! You're now TEN years old, and no replacement is on the horizon. You sly dog, posing as a backcountry boot, but weigh a porky 4.5 each (per my size 29.5s) and are essentially the same boot WC teleskiers use to crash gates. Different color, softer flex, Tech inserts, but same weight and same number of buckles. Speaking of buckles, you should come with extra mid-strap wires (and instructions for replacement- as nobody has been able to figure it out without drilling out the screws) 'cause they break seasonally. "Scarpa- Don't mess with success".

Another "I love my TX Pros!". First telemark boots I brought new, having come from alpine via a second-hand pair of Scarpa T1. Very much the path you've described here and they've been fantastic for me. They're so good that I only take them off in springtime to lap slushy bumps in my alpine gear (as an ex mogul bod).

What size width ski did you end up on? I'm an ex alpine ski racer looking to get into telemark resort carving. I spent a year back in the early 2000's and learned on a 178cm slalom ski and learned how to carve early well but I really want to get back into it this season!

I have years ago a pair of NTN Scott Voddoos. They're supposed flex 130 but don't feel very stiff as they have just 3 buckles. I'm curious abour TX Pros. If you compare Scott vs TX Pros what about the stiffness, performance and fitting?. Do this TX Pro fits to me?. I like to telemarking hard with stiff skis
@FreeheelLife
@FreeheelLife Жыл бұрын
Voodoos are not even close to 130 flex. I'd guess 100 at best. TX pro is a superior boot for a couple reasons: better upper cuff flex and shape, has an instep strap, better stock liner. You'd 100% be better off in TX Pro, but if you really want something closer to 130 flex and don't care about tech toe jump up to the TX Comp. These ones: www.freeheellife.com/products/scarpa-tx-comp-ntn-telemark-boot . Thanks - Josh Madsen

I started with a Crispi NTN Evo (Grey/orange) in EU, and don't see many of them here in the US. I'm curious how it compares to the Scarpa TX Pro as far as overall stiffness and the flexibility of the bellows. I ask because you commented that the TX Pro has a more flexible bellows, which allows more ball-of-the-foot contact when flexed. I'm quite small/light (145lbs), so I wouldn't even know what that's like in the Crispi.
@freeskicdm

A note on sizing: I was a late adopter to NTN mostly due to my 30.5/31.0 size feet in the T2 ECO. I do not fit into a 30.0 T2, and since the highest size in the TX PRO is 30.0, I thought there was no way it would fit-- but the 30.0 TX fits exactly like the 30.5/31.0 T2. Imagine my surprise. I should have done the switch YEARS ago. One piece of trivia: the T2 ECO 30.5/31.0 are interchangeable in my mind sizewise but the 29.5 TXP liner is definitely much tighter than the 30.0. So there's some magic going on inside with the sizes. The CL didn't move either when I did the swap (1 or 2mm maximum) I love this boot- it's great. I'm a lighter skinny skier and I don't find it too stiff at all. Really a sweet, sweet ride.

I'm cursed with freakishly tall feet and scarpa boots don't work for me. I currently have scott voodoo ntn 2 sizes too big. The sad part is if scott stops making them and I ever need an upgrade I'll have to start locking my heel again. Think there is any hope someone makes another tall boot? Can you convince dynafit to make a tele version of the radical pro? I here that boot is the cat's meow for tall footed AT skiers.
@FreeheelLife
@FreeheelLife Жыл бұрын
By "tall" do you just mean large feet...wide? I'm assuming that's what you mean since you are sizing up that much in your current boots. I'd love to comment on this a little better but want to make sure I'm understanding it correctly. Thanks! - Josh Madsen

@@FreeheelLife both. By tall I mean the distance between the ground and the top of my instep is larger than most people. My feet are a bit wide but more than that I have a tall arch and tall instep. I think Scarpa are fairly wide boots but aren't particularly tall as I recall.
