With these cats and the fabulous thunderbirds peaking about the same time, the late 70's-early 80's was much stronger than I'd ever realized. People talk about the 60's as the blues revival heyday, and perhaps it was, but I can't think of any bands from that era half as tight and deep as the Fats Band & the aforementioned T-Birds. Halcyon Days indeed.

Hollywood's sidekick David kid Ramos put together a band with Richard Inness, Larry Taylor and the professor Fred on organ. They fronted recording legend Floyd Dixon in his last concert weekend. It was recorded by HighJohn records. I drove them around town and their equipment from LA to Phoneix. 120 degrees in June 2006 I think. Here's title song. My dj friend Gary Wagner said kid was so young with Fats and kinda hid behind him on the bandstand. Gave kid a good view of fats, and kid paid attention. I'll post in reply here a track they did by Albert Collins called cold something or over. I think al Blake must have been booked that night

@@BorrowedTunes I love Kid! He’s a close friend, I recorded with him and Lynwood Slim when I was 17 years old on a rare album called ‘Off The Wall Jive’ by Manny and Swingin’ Hipshakers.
