I'm not religious and a family member died. A pastor spoke to me and said it would be an honor if he could say a few words for the service. The family member wasn't religious either but the wife was and he went with once or twice to her service attendance. So I said okay and I recall, vividly, that he said he was doing that as a gift to the decease and he said he wouldn't feel right to charge for such a thing. Low and behold, "members of the church" approached me afterwards and said I know he said there was no charge but it was "customary to make a donation to the church" for such a thing. And as those word were suddenly whispered to me, I looked up and saw the pastor staring at me and the old lady that seem to be relaying "known customs of donations," but he quickly diverted his eyes when I looked at him. For a lack of better words, I almost had to slap a B! at a funeral. My initial thought was don't come at me at a funeral looking for a "donation" when someone vividly say I want to speak as a "friend of the deceased." The only thought I had after that was: God knows what you did there and it was trying to run a scam on someone whose family member just died. They never saw a nickle from me and needless to say I see sour faces if our paths happen to cross. They are luck I am a professional individual or otherwise they would had gotten an earful from me at that moment. I live in the bible belt and have witnessed the scamming all my life. It ain't happened here.

I think the rules for establishing religions need to be tightened and to be made non profit or remove their tax emption as well. There was a guy on one of the other sites looked into establishing a religion and looked into how to do that and established a religion in about 2 weeks and was then a legal religion. Where is the most dangerous place to stand at an evangelical meeting. ? Answer Between the evangelist and the collection plate.
