Our vet told us that intestines are strange when it comes to pain. You can cut a "straight cut" through it, completely painlessly, but if you stretch it just a tiny bit, it hurts like crazy - as in the worst pain possible. Extrapolating (unencumbered by any medical knowledge apart from what the vet said), sharp pain in the gut might be something "stretching". Lots of pain in the "appendicitis spot" (I forget where that's meant to be) is a medical emergency, from what I've heard - needs to right away become your number one priority. My non-medical opinion is that your pain went away too quickly for appendicitis (but that stomach pain can be due to something urgent.) Colon cancer doesn't hurt, apparently, so if that's right it's not that. (Also very curable if you catch it early enough, and hell on Earth if you catch it a bit late, or things go wrong. The cancer survivors I know say have a colonoscopy every year or six months as you get older, and ensure that you end up in the "small procedure fixes it" category if you get it.) So there's all I don't know diddly squat about, when it comes to stomach pain. (I should go for colonoscopies, myself, but don't. Stupid, I suppose. But the stuff you have to drink to get the colon clean enough makes me worse than nauseous. Gets up through the sinuses and contaminates one's mind, almost. Given a choice between a plate of fresh turd and that stuff, it would be really difficult to make the right choice.)

As someone with ulcerative colitis, I agree wholeheartedly! The 'prep' for a colonoscopy is the worst!!! Would rather fast for a week, than drink that vile emulsion!😁✌️&❤️

@@jamespaivapaiva4460 I once went in for an operation where the worst thing about the experience was that one of my ward mates was "on the prep", and I could smell it. Lovely guy, but I just couldn't stand the smell of him. :D

@@pentagrammaton6793 I've seen people who never complain about anything whimpering and curled up into little balls, because their gut-stretching conditions playing up. So far I've managed to avoid experiencing it myself, thank goodness.

May I make a recommendation? Perhaps someone has already made this recommendation; I don't read all the comments. Before Marquee Moon, Television had a single called Little Johnny Jewel. It was a longer song, and as such, they fade it out midway through, and it takes up both sides of the 7". So on it's original release, it's broken into Little Johnny Jewel 1 & 2. It has subsequently been released in it's full unedited form, included as a bonus track on CD re-releases of Marquee Moon. Anyway, it's definitely worth hearing, especially if you are enjoying your Television experience thus far

You mentioned the fact that it feels "long" - someone who actually knows music theory help me out, but I feel like this song changes key several times over the course of the verse? Whatever it is, it gives a very "long, winding road" kind of effect. When this record came out, there was a bit of controversy among the CBGB crowd over Television "going soft" and not leaning into their punk side. This track in particular was probably a hard pill to swallow for the Ramones fans. I love it, though! Also, I want to shout out "Never the rose / Without the prick" for being a rare triple-entendre. ;)
