Sadly what the average person doesn't know is that it's natural for organic food to break down, those food which has long shelf life and ground produce which doesn't break down is filled with chemicals.

Why would the gov't of Jamaica allow for the importation of ground provisions when the local farmers have produced these crops in abundance. The consumers need to understand how important it is to support the local farmers. Therefore, they must walk away from those foreign produce that have been in storage for God knows how long and purchase the local fresh produce.
