The minister is correct to call for rewriting some of the IC law as it must certify year by year. And it must look at current year even if an inspection is still occurring on previous year. Items like forgotten bank accounts should be repairable without causing parties to call for MPs to step down. Plus if a years report is referred to TAJ or FID for further inspection, that years report should be held private until the inspection is done, not tabled to parliament while being inspected. Plus, corporations are separate from individuals so, if the IC is concerned about an mp business then that business should be investigated by the FID and TAJ without the IC holding the report of the MP from being certified if the MP records themselves are clear. So, too, an IC investigator should never investigate more than one year at a time like they are fishing for political reasons.

The law might needs a bit of corrective measures but I disagree with the lady's view that the complete act needs to be rewritten.
