Until parents and students take education seriously no matter what is implemented there won't be any difference.

Absolutely, stricter detention laws are necessary.
@tramp282710 күн бұрын
Mark Golding has already said no to that. Funny, but he had no problem with Manley's indefinite detention.
@pinky14899 күн бұрын
@tramp2827 Well, this is where the power of the people's votes is significant if they are in disagreement with Golding. I hope to see Jamaicans voting along the lines of what's best for the country and not party affiliation.

@@pinky1489 Well, that would be my wish too, but Jamaicans, like Americans, don't vote for country. They vote for who makes the best promises.

Part of Singapores success has to do with anti corruption measures taken VERY early and investment in infrastructure and industries. The country has discipline we don’t. All we have are politicians who steal, and citizens who are seeing few benefits from government. Look at the roads farmers are travelling on???? That’s just a basic thing that MPs should be dealing with but instead they’re having a great time on yachts and private parties

Whenever I hear of a country where the children are excelling in school, I always inquire about their percentage of birth to unwed mothers. Singapore reports a low 2% out of a population of over five and a half million,, while Jamaica reported 85% of unwed mothers, out of a population of almost 3 million.

I applaud Jamaica's education ministry in looking for ways to innovate, but I'm a bit concerned about the effort to implement an AI-bassd student self-paced learning program from Singapore where the cultural norms and social practices are different from Jamaica. Singaporean schools have a much greater emphasis on academic and scholastic discipline and restricts casual smartphone use and social media access in schools and societyin general (though in recent years more Singaporean kuds are getting addicted). The Jamaican society is different and tgere us a much greated addiction level to social media and other smartphone distractions. So additional steps nesd to be taken if they expect that kids who already are struggling to oay attention in school or keep up with lessons will suddenly on their own focus on school work in a self-paced program. I think the idea is good, but I question where it's an effective or suitable education approach for ALl Jamaican students. I can see it also takibg the onus and accountability away from teachers to teach.and ibatead shifting a greater responsibility onto students to teach themselves.
